Mushtaq Ahmed is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who currently acts as the spin bowling coach for the Bangladesh national cricket team. A leg break googly bowler,at his peak he was described as being one of the best three wrist-spinners in the world. George Henry Dockrell is an Irish cricketer,who plays international cricket for Ireland,having learned his cricket at Leinster Cricket Club,Dublin. Known as an all-rounder,Dockrell is a right-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He was a member of the class of 2010 in Gonzaga College,Dublin. In December 2018,he was one of nineteen players to be awarded a central contract by Cricket Ireland for the 2019 season. In January 2020,he was one of nineteen players to be awarded a central contract by Cricket Ireland,the first year in which all contracts were awarded on a full-time basis.

The Pakistan cricket team toured England between April and June 2018 to play two Test matches. Ahead of the Tests,Pakistan played first-class matches against Kent and Northamptonshire. They then travelled to Dublin to play Ireland in their first Test match,before playing a two-day match against Leicestershire ahead of the first Test against England. At the end of the tour they played two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) against Scotland in Edinburgh. The Test series was drawn 1–1.

Rehan Ahmed is an English cricketer. He made his international debut against Pakistan on 17 December 2022,becoming England men's youngest Test debutant at the age of 18 years and 126 days. On the third day of the match he also became the youngest debutant to take five wickets in an innings in men’s Tests. On 12 March 2023,Ahmed became the youngest England male cricketer to play in all three formats of international cricket.
The England cricket team toured India from January to March 2024 to play five Test matches. The Test series formed part of the 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship. The teams competed for the Anthony de Mello Trophy. The series overlapped with the first-class series between India A and England Lions,which took place in January and February 2024.
