SIBIIR is a Norwegian blackened hardcore band from Oslo. The band was formed in 2014, and released their first single in 2015. [1] Since then, SIBIIR has released two critically acclaimed albums on the label Fysisk Format.

History

The band consists of Jimmy Nymoen (vocals), Tobias Gausemel Backe (guitar), Steffen Grønneberg (guitar), Kent Nordli (bass) and Eivind Kjølstad (drums), and was formed in Oslo in 2014. Their first single Swallow and Trap Them! was premiered exclusively on MetalSucks, who wrote: "This is one of those songs you pretty much have to be a crazy person not to dig". [2] Their self titled debut album SIBIIR was released in 2016, and got great reviews from several music magazines. Their latest album, Ropes has also gotten great reviews, Metal Injection wrote "If nasty vocals, blackened guitars, and fiercely punk drumming is your jam, then you owe it to yourself to check out SIBIIR" [3]

SIBIIR has also toured around in Europe, and have played at festivals like Roskilde Festival, and Øyafestivalen. [4] They have been on tour with bands like Kvelertak [5] and Enslaved (band).

Hecate Enthroned is a Welsh Symphonic black metal band formed and based in Wrexham. They formed in 1993 as a blackened death metal act under the name Amethyst, changing their name to Daemonum later on. In 1995 the band changed its name to their current one and embraced a symphonic black metal style that was constantly compared to early Cradle of Filth, although since 1999 their work has strayed from their earlier symphonic black metal style and has incorporated more elements of melodic death metal.

Deathcore Fusion subgenre of death metal and metalcore

Deathcore is an extreme metal subgenre that combines death metal with metalcore. The genre consists of death metal guitar riffs, blast beats, and metalcore breakdowns. While there are some precursors to the concept of death metal fused with metalcore/hardcore elements seen in the 1990s, deathcore itself emerged in the early 2000s and gained most prominence beginning in the mid-2000s within the southwestern United States, especially Arizona and inland southern California, which are home to many notable bands and various festivals.

Flaw is an American nu metal band from Louisville, Kentucky. The band was formed by guitarist Jason Daunt in 1996. After a string of rough independent recordings in the 1990s, the band signed to Republic and Universal Music Group and released two major label albums, Through the Eyes in 2001 and Endangered Species in 2004. Breakups, line-up changes, and internal strife plagued the band for the rest of the decade, though from 2015 to 2017, the band reformed with three of their core members to tour and write music. The band released their third studio album, Divided We Fall, in 2016. Their latest album, Vol IV: Because of the Brave, was released in 2019. The band's lineup frequently shifts; lead vocalist Chris Volz is the only constant member.

Norma Jean is an American metalcore band from Douglasville, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. Since their inception in 1997, numerous lineup changes have left the band with no original members. To date, Norma Jean has released eight studio albums and received a Grammy Award nomination in 2006 for Best Recording Package for their second album O' God, the Aftermath. The band's name is derived from the real name of actress Marilyn Monroe.

The band, formed in 2003, consists of Daniel Tompkins, Alec "Acle" Kahney, James Monteith, Amos Williams, and Jay Postones. The band is currently signed to Kscope. Killer Be Killed is an American heavy metal supergroup founded by Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist Greg Puciato and Soulfly frontman Max Cavalera in early 2011. The lineup also features Mastodon bassist and co-vocalist Troy Sanders and Converge drummer Ben Koller. The band had slowly been working on material before announcing its name in October 2013, along with their signing to Nuclear Blast. The group's self-titled debut record was released on May 13, 2014. On September 4, 2020, the group returned with a new single, and released their second album Reluctant Hero on November 20, 2020.

Light the Torch is an American metalcore supergroup formed in Los Angeles, California, United States, in 2012. They currently are signed to Nuclear Blast Records and have released three albums; The Beauty of Destruction and They Bleed Red, which were released under the "Devil You Know" moniker, and their latest album, Revival, which was released on March 30, 2018 under the "Light the Torch" name.

Sannhet

Sannhet is an American experimental metal band from Brooklyn, New York, United States. The band formed in 2010 by John Refano, Christopher Todd, and AJ Annunziata. They have released three full-length albums as well as a variety of EPs and singles which were collected together and released in their 2016 compilation album Young Death. Sannhet has become known for their elaborate live shows which combine their "dense" sound with lights, projected visualizations and rhythm-synced strobes. They are an instrumental band with a sound that combines black metal, sludge metal, and shoegaze with the structures and orders of post-rock and post-punk, though unlike other bands with similar influences, they tend to favor shorter song structures.

In Becoming a Ghost is the fourth studio album by The Faceless. It was released on December 1, 2017 through Sumerian Records. It is the only album with Abigail Williams' Ken Sorceron on vocals, The Zenith Passage's Justin McKinney on guitar and Chason Westmoreland, formerly of Hate Eternal, session drumming. The album debuted at #66 on the Billboard Top Current Albums chart.

Batushka

Batushka are an anonymous Polish black metal band formed by Krzysztof Drabikowski. Their music and lyrics, which are written exclusively in Old Church Slavonic language, are inspired by the Eastern Orthodox Church. The band members wear habits and Eastern Orthodox schemas during live performances to conceal their identities. In contrast with many other black metal bands, they use eight string guitars.
