"Ten Over Ten" is the third single from Nigerian rapper Naeto C's Super C Season album. It was released on August 16, 2010.
The song is produced by Nigerian producer Ty Mix whom Naeto C has collaborated with on a handful of songs including seven different ones on his Super C Season album. [1] Its three verses were written by the rapper. It is an up-tempo track and its rhythm and lyrics have a good laid back feel to it. The rapper described the phrase "Ten Over Ten" as a state of being cool, tight, on point, anything that makes sense, to ooze swag.
The song has generally received positive reviews and a lot of airplay and has generally heightened the anticipation around the rapper's forthcoming album. [2] The rapper employs the use of his local igbo dialect, Yoruba, "Broken English" or Nigerian Pidgin English and English in the singing of the song's chorus but all his verses are restricted purely to English and Nigerian Pidgin English. Panshak Henry Zamani better known as Ice Prince Zamani or just Ice Prince, is a Nigerian hip hop recording artist and actor. He rose to fame after releasing "Oleku", one of Nigeria's most remixed songs of all time. He won the 2009 Hennessy Artistry Club Tour. His debut studio album Everybody Loves Ice Prince was released in 2011. It was supported by three singles: "Oleku", "Superstar" and "Juju". Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, who is better known as Brymo, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, sonic artist, actor and author who was born and raised in Okokomaiko. Brymo started recording music in 1999 while in secondary school. He signed a recording contract with music label Chocolate City in 2010 but was accused of breaching his contract in 2013. Brymo released his debut studio album Brymstone in 2007. His second studio album The Son of a Kapenta was released in 2012, and was supported by the singles "Ara", "Good Morning" and "Go Hard". Its release was preceded by four singles: "Back When", "Dami Duro", "Ekuro" and "Overseas". The album's music is a mixture of Afrobeats and hip hop. It features guest appearances from Naeto C, Sina Rambo, B-Red, Kayswitch, Ice Prince, May D and 2 Face Idibia. Omo Baba Olowo received generally negative reviews from music critics, who denounced its lyrical content and Davido's songwriting. The album won Best R&B/Pop Album and received a nomination for Album of the Year at The Headies 2013. It was also nominated for Best Album of the Year at the 2013 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
Chibuzo Nelson Azubuike, known professionally as Phyno, is a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer. A native of Anambra State, Phyno was born and raised in Enugu State. He started his music career as a producer in 2003, and is renowned for rapping in the Igbo language. His debut studio album No Guts No Glory was released in 2014. It was supported by the singles "Ghost Mode", "Man of the Year", "Parcel" and "O Set". Phyno has worked with artists such as Olamide, Wizkid, Davido, Timaya, Flavour, Ruggedman, Bracket, J. Igbo highlife is a contemporary musical genre which combines highlife and Igbo traditional music. It first started off in the southeast region of Nigeria, during the 1920s in Lagos. The genre is primarily guitar-based music, with rare characteristic blend of horns and vocal rhythms. Igbo highlife lyrics are sung mostly in Igbo with occasional infusion of Pidgin English. One of the most influential composers and performers of the music is Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe whose career spanned over 40 years. Osadebe's discography comprises numerous popular songs including the 1984 hit "Osondi Owendi" which launched him on the world stage as a pioneer of the Igbo highlife genre.
