Tsai Ing-wen is a Taiwanese politician who has been serving as president of the Republic of China (Taiwan) since 2016. A member of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP),Tsai is the first female president of Taiwan and the second to be born in Taiwan after the end of the Chinese Civil War in 1949. She served as chair of the DPP from 2020 to 2022,from 2014 to 2018,and from 2008 to 2012. Her second presidential term will expire and she will be succeeded by her vice president William Lai on 20 May 2024.

Hailemariam Desalegn Boshe is an Ethiopian politician who served as prime minister of Ethiopia from 2012 to 2018. He also previously served as deputy prime minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs under Prime Minister Meles Zenawi from 2010 to 2012. After Meles' death in August 2012,Hailemariam succeeded him as prime minister,initially in an acting capacity. He was then elected as the chair of the EPRDF,the ruling party,on 15 September 2012. Hailemariam also served as the chairperson of the African Union from 2013 to 2014.
International governments are divided on the issue of recognition of the independence of Kosovo from Serbia,which was declared in 2008. The Government of Serbia does not diplomatically recognise Kosovo as a sovereign state,although the two countries have enjoyed normalised economic relations since 2020 and have agreed not to try to interfere with the other's accession to the European Union.
Jutta Pauliina Urpilainen is a Finnish politician. She was the first female chair of the Social Democratic Party of Finland,which she led from 2008 to 2014. She was the Minister of Finance as well as the Deputy Prime Minister of Finland from 2011 to 2014. Since 1 December 2019,she is the European Commissioner for International Partnerships in the European Commission led by Ursula von der Leyen. She announced her candidacy for the 2024 election for President of Finland in November 2023.
Japan–Kosovo relations are foreign relations between Japan and Kosovo. Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia on February 17,2008,and Japan recognized it on March 18,2008. According to the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs,Japan and Kosovo established diplomatic relations on February 25,2009.
Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is a Namibian politician who is the third and current vice president of Namibia since February 2024. She previously served as the deputy-prime minister of Namibia from 2015 to 2024. The current SWAPO vice president,she has retained her position,and is set to become the party's first female presidential candidate in November 2024. She has also been serving as Namibia's Minister of International Relations and Cooperation since December 2012. From March 2010 to December 2012,she was Minister of Environment and Tourism. Nandi-Ndaitwah is a member of SWAPO,Namibia's ruling party,and a long-time member of the National Assembly. In 2017,Nandi-Ndaitwah was elected vice-president of the Swapo Party at the party's 6th Congress. She is the first woman to serve in that position.

Bujar M. Osmani is a Macedonian politician of Albanian descent serving as the current Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia and former Minister of Health. In June 2017,he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European affairs. On 30 August 2020,Osmani became Minister of Foreign Affairs. Osmani was the first Macedonian of Albanian descent to lead the top diplomatic post in North Macedonia.

The 2022 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting,also known as CHOGM 2022,was the 26th Meeting of the Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Nations. The meeting was originally scheduled for 26–27 June 2020 in Kigali,Rwanda preceded by various fora between 22 and 25 June,but was postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 31 January 2022,it was announced that the meeting would be held on 24 and 25 June 2022 and the pre-meeting fora held from 20 to 23 June.

A protocol department decides on diplomatic immunity and privileges,diplomatic host security,diplomatic use of airspace and it is the guardian of official etiquette. Advance protocol teams,usually headed by the Chief of Protocol,engage as first contact between governments for the planning of bilateral and multilateral summits and visits.

Somaliland–Taiwan relations refers to the relationship between the Republic of Somaliland and the Republic of China (Taiwan). The two countries have no formal diplomatic relations,but they have established embassy-like representative offices in each other's capital. Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs refers to Somaliland as a country as of 2023,implying official recognition. Taiwan is currently the only country in the world to recognize Somaliland in this capacity.
