Central Asia Gas Pipeline, Ltd. (CentGas) was a consortium formed in the 1990s to develop a project to build the Trans-Afghanistan Pipeline from Turkmenistan's natural gas fields to Pakistan. The consortium had also considered an extension of the pipeline to the New Delhi area. Regional and political instability proved too great a challenge to overcome and the project eventually was cancelled after Unocal withdrew from the consortium.

He is the Chairman of Panoro Energy ASA, the Norwegian oil & gas company based in London as well as the cofounder of the private investment company Nanes Balkany Partners based in New York. He also ran for office in the June 2012 French Parliament election but was defeated.

Due to relative security and peace in the region and more economically liberal and market-oriented policies, it has a far more developed economy in comparison to other parts of Iraq. Since late 2016, the standard of living in Kurdistan Region has been lower than the rest of Iraq.

Primarily involved in the petroleum and shipping industry in its initial years of existence, the company later diversified and became involved in other industries such as real estate and telecommunications.
Dennis Ang Uy is a Chinese-Filipino businessman and diplomat who is a native of Davao City and is the founder of Udenna Corporation which has stakes in various businesses including Phoenix Petroleum.
