UI Energy Corporation is a Korean company founded in 1987 (formerly known as Gong Young Multi System). Its areas of interest include the development of resources and minerals, power plants and the supply of medical equipment. It is quoted on the KOSDAQ (Korea Securities Dealers Automated Quotations). It also notes that attorney Jeffrey D. Jones, the former President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea, and Dr. Robert A. Scalapino, who served as the Dean of University of California, Berkeley, are on their company board of advisors. [2]

Its payment of an undisclosed sum to former United Kingdom Prime Minister Tony Blair has been subject to media comment in the UK. [4]

Kurdistan Contract

UI Energy Corporation was part of a consortium (KNOC Bazian Limited) that was awarded the Bazian Block (473 square kilometres) in Sulaimani Governorate. The consurmtium also includes the Korea National Oil Corporation, and Korean private sector oil exploration and development companies SK Energy Co Ltd, Daesung Industrial Co, Ltd, Samchully Co Ltd, Bum-Ah Resource Development Corp, GS Holdings Corp, and Majuko Corporation. The Bazian Block has been described as a relatively low exploration risk area. [5]

Anthony Leslie Rowland "Tony" Buckingham is a former North Sea oil-rig diver and is currently an oil industry executive with a significant share holding in Heritage Oil Corporation. Heritage is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange since 1999. In 2008, Heritage listed on the London Stock Exchange. Buckingham's direct and indirect share holding is estimated to represent 33% of Heritage. This share was reduced in November 2007 via a share placement made through JP Morgan and Canaccord.

Central Asia Gas Pipeline, Ltd. (CentGas) was a consortium formed in the 1990s to develop a project to build the Trans-Afghanistan Pipeline from Turkmenistan's natural gas fields to Pakistan. The consortium had also considered an extension of the pipeline to the New Delhi area. Regional and political instability proved too great a challenge to overcome and the project eventually was cancelled after Unocal withdrew from the consortium.

Major acquisitions include a $310 million November 18, 2009 purchase of Black Gold Energy followed by the 2010 $37.6 million acquisition of Voyager Energy which expanded its presence in Trinidad.

Julien Balkany is a French businessman and an investor based in London. He is the younger half-brother of former French Member of Parliament and former Mayor of Levallois, Patrick Balkany. He is the Chairman of Panoro Energy ASA, the Norwegian oil & gas company based in London as well as the cofounder of the private investment company Nanes Balkany Partners based in New York. He also ran for office in the June 2012 French Parliament election but was defeated.

Economy in Kurdistan Region consists of the autonomous economy in Kurdistan region in northern Iraq. The Kurdistan region's economy is dominated by the oil industry, agriculture and tourism. Due to relative security and peace in the region and more economically liberal and market-oriented policies, it has a far more developed economy in comparison to other parts of Iraq. Since late 2016, the standard of living in Kurdistan Region has been lower than the rest of Iraq.

Udenna Corporation is a holdings company by the Udenna Group of Companies which is based in Davao City, Philippines founded by businessman Dennis Uy. Primarily involved in the petroleum and shipping industry in its initial years of existence, the company later diversified and became involved in other industries such as real estate and telecommunications.
