Freedom Transit (formerly 'Washington City Transit') is the designation for the public transit agency that provides bus services in the urbanized portion of central and northern Washington County, Pennsylvania.
Local bus routes operated by this system are designed to serve Washington, Pennsylvania, an edge city and a key location of both business parks and shopping amenities. The "Metro" bus route provides access from the Washington County suburbs to Downtown Pittsburgh. The Metro bus route makes stops in Washington, Houston and Canonsburg, serving central and northern Washington County, traveling ten times per weekday in each direction to Downtown Pittsburgh. The Metro service also stops at designated park and ride locations. More limited bus service is offered on Saturdays, with service to the South Hills "T" Transit Center.
In July 2015, Washington City Transit merged into the Washington County Transportation Authority. [1] The combined agency now operates bus service using the name Freedom Transit.

Canonsburg is a borough in Washington County, Pennsylvania, United States, 18 miles (29 km) southwest of Pittsburgh. The population was 9,735 at the 2020 census. Canonsburg was laid out by Colonel John Canon in 1789 and incorporated in 1802. The town lies in a rich coal district, and most of the town's work force once worked in local steel mills or coal mines. Interstate 79 and U.S. Route 19 pass through the town, as does the Pittsburgh and Ohio Central Railroad. A trolley used to operate from Washington, Pennsylvania to Pittsburgh through the borough until 1953.
Cecil Township is a township in Washington County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is a suburb in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The population was 14,585 at the 2020 census. The township contains the Southpointe suburban business park; companies based there include Ansys, Consol Energy, Millcraft Industries and Mylan. Cecil Township is served by the Canon-McMillan School District.

The township is named after the town of Strabane in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The township borders the borough of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania to the north. North Strabane is a part of Canon-McMillan School District.
The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County is a major public transportation agency based in Houston, Texas, United States. It operates bus, light rail, bus rapid transit, HOV and HOT lanes, and paratransit service in the city as well as most of Harris County. It also operates bus service to two cities in Fort Bend County, and to Conroe in Montgomery County. The Metro headquarters are in the Lee P. Brown Administration Building in Downtown Houston. Trinity Metro is a transit agency located in and serving the city of Fort Worth, Texas and its suburbs in surrounding Tarrant County, part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. Since 1983, it was previously known officially as the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (FWTA), and branded itself as The T. As of January 29, 2018 the Board of Directors has voted to rebrand bus services as Trinity Metro, replacing the previous and long standing name. In 2023, the system had a ridership of 5,717,800, or about 20,500 per weekday as of the fourth quarter of 2023.

The state-funded agency is based in Pittsburgh and is overseen by a CEO and a board of unpaid volunteer directors, some of whom are appointed by the county executive and approved by the county council; and one each by the majority and minority leaders by each political party. After operating as the Port Authority of Allegheny County for most of its history, the agency rebranded under its current name in June 2022. In 2023, the system had a ridership of 39,730,300.

The district operates one high school (9th–12th), one middle school (7th–8th), two intermediate schools (5th–6th) and five elementary Schools (K-4th).
Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) is an American public transportation system in Prince William County, Virginia, Stafford County, Virginia, and Spotsylvania County, Virginia, plus two adjacent independent cities, Manassas and Manassas Park. The Westmoreland County Transit Authority (WCTA) is the operator of mass transportation in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Using 35 buses, a total of 18 routes are operated, the majority of which serve the urbanized corridor that makes up the western portion of the county. Bus routes in this area are designed to provide access for suburban commuters to Downtown Pittsburgh, as well as transportation for both workers and shoppers to the large suburbs of Greensburg and New Kensington, Pennsylvania the most prominent entities in the county's boundaries. Rural eastern bus routes allow for commutes to Greensburg and also provide service to the city of Johnstown in neighboring Cambria County.

Pennsylvania Route 980 is a north–south 17-mile-long (27 km) state highway located in Washington and Allegheny counties in Pennsylvania. The highway begins at PA 519 south of Canonsburg. The northern terminus is at an interchange with U.S. Route 22 in North Fayette Township. PA 980 passes through the towns of Canonsburg, Venice, and McDonald. From West Pike Street in Canonsburg to US 22, PA 980 runs concurrently with BicyclePA Route A.
Fayette Area Coordinated Transportation, known by the moniker of FACT, is a public transportation service located in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. It provides inter-city bus and paratransit service to select communities within the county. Because the region is located within the metropolitan area of Pittsburgh, four times per day service is provided to the Downtown Pittsburgh area. In 2009, the Connellsville-Uniontown Route was extended into Westmoreland County to the Countryside Plaza Shopping Center, near Mount Pleasant.

It was created in 2001 to take over the "human service transportation programs previously overseen by the County’s Department of Human Services and managed by a private broker." Other than Philadelphia and Allegheny County, the Washington County Transportation Authority operates the fifth largest shared ride program in Pennsylvania.
