Wilson G. Bradshaw was the third president of Florida Gulf Coast University.
A native of Sanford,Florida and raised in West Palm Beach,Wilson Bradshaw holds bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology from Florida Atlantic University and a doctorate in psychobiology from the University of Pittsburgh. [1] He is married to Jo Anna and they have three adult sons.
Bradshaw came to FGCU from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul,Minnesota,having previously served as its president for seven years. Prior to that he served as provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Bloomsburg University and Dean of Graduate Studies at Florida Atlantic University.
Bradshaw became FGCU president on August 25,2007,replacing Bill Merwin who resigned after admitting to an extramarital affair with a faculty member. [2]
The Silver Springs,Ocala and Gulf Railroad was a railroad running in northern Central Florida. Despite its name,it never directly served Silver Springs but instead ran from Ocala west to Dunnellon and to the Gulf of Mexico at Homosassa. It also had a track that served Inverness from Dunnellon.

Joseph Gerard Dooley III is the former head men's basketball coach of the East Carolina University Pirates,having previously served as head coach from 1995 to 1999 and 2018-2022. Dooley was an assistant on the Kansas Jayhawks 2007–08 NCAA national championship team. and previously served as head coach at Florida Gulf Coast University.
The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles refer to the fifteen intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Florida Gulf Coast University,located in Fort Myers,Florida in intercollegiate athletics,including men and women's basketball,cross country,golf,soccer,and tennis;women's-only:softball,swimming and diving,indoor volleyball,and beach volleyball;and men's-only:baseball. The Eagles compete in the NCAA Division I and are members of the ASUN Conference (ASUN). FGCU is also notable as the youngest institution competing in NCAA Division I,having been officially founded in 1991 and started classes in 1997. Their mascot is Azul the Eagle.

The Eagles,led by second year head coach Andy Enfield,played their home games at Alico Arena and were members of the Atlantic Sun Conference. They finished A-Sun play with a record of 13–5 to finish in second place. In only their second year of full NCAA eligibility,the Eagles won the Atlantic Sun tournament,beating top-seeded Mercer in the championship game,to earn their first ever bid to the NCAA tournament as a No. 15 seed in the south region. Guard Sherwood Brown was named the A-Sun player of the year.

Andrew William Enfield is an American basketball coach who is currently the head men's basketball coach at the University of Southern California (USC). He came to national prominence as head coach at Florida Gulf Coast when it made an unexpected run to the Sweet 16 round of the 2013 NCAA tournament as a no. 15 seed.
Sherwood Terrell Brown is an American professional basketball player for the Montreal Alliance of the Canadian Elite Basketball League. From 2009 to 2013,he played college basketball at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers,Florida. Brown was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Year in 2013 as a senior.

They also won the Atlantic Sun Tournament to earn an automatic to the 2015 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament where they lost to Florida State in the second round.
Robert "Bob" Butehorn is an American soccer coach who currently coaches the South Florida Bulls men's soccer program. Butehorn attended the University of Tampa,where he was part of the team's 1981 NCAA Division II Soccer Championship run. He previously served as the head coach for the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles men's soccer program.

The Eagles were led by fifth-year head coach Joe Dooley and played their home games at Alico Arena in Fort Myers,Florida as members of the Atlantic Sun Conference. They finished the season 23–12,12–2 in ASUN play to win the ASUN regular season championship. In the ASUN tournament,they defeated USC Upstate and North Florida to advance to the championship game where they lost to Lipscomb. As a regular season conference champion who failed to win their conference tournament,they received an automatic bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they lost in the first round to Oklahoma State.

Brandon Goodwin is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for Florida Gulf Coast University. A transfer from the University of Central Florida (UCF),Goodwin was named the 2018 ASUN Conference Player of the Year.
