Yoshihiko Isozaki (born September 8, 1957, in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese politician who has served as a member of the House of Councillors of Japan since 2010. He represents the Kagawa at-large district and is a member of the Liberal Democratic Party. [1]

Shoji Nishida is a conservative Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party, a member of the House of Councillors in the Diet. He, born in Kyoto Prefecture on 19 September 1958, graduated from Shiga University in 1981, became certified public tax accountant by passing the Licensed Tax Accountant Examination in 1984 and was elected to the House of Councillors for the first time in 2007 after serving in the assembly of Kyoto Prefecture since 1990.

Takeshi Maeda Japanese politician

Takeshi Maeda is a Japanese politician of the Democratic Party of Japan, a former member of the House of Councillors in the Diet. A native of Yoshino District, Nara, he graduated from Kyoto University and received a master's degree from it. After serving in the House of Representatives for four terms, he was elected to the House of Councillors for the first time in 2004. In September 2011 he was appointed as Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in the cabinet of newly appointed prime minister Yoshihiko Noda. However, Maeda left the ministry the following year after a series of censure motions were passed by the House of Councillors in April 2012, which required prime minister Noda to dismiss both Maeda and the Minister of Defence Naoki Tanaka in order to get support from the opposition parties to pass his plan to increase Japan's consumption tax rate. Maeda retired from the House of Councillors after his term expired in 2016.

Toshio Yamauchi is a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party, a member of the House of Councillors in the Diet. A native of Marugame, Kagawa and graduate of Waseda University, he was elected to the House of Councillors for the first time in 1998 after serving in the assembly of Kagawa Prefecture since 1991.

Yoshiki Yamashita is a Japanese politician who serves as a member of the House of Councillors in the Diet, representing the Japan Communist Party. A native of Kagawa Prefecture and graduate of Tottori University, he was elected to the House of Councillors for the first time in 1995 after running unsuccessfully in 1992. He lost the seat in the 2001 re-election and then ran unsuccessfully for the House of Representatives in 2003 and 2005. In 2007, he was elected to the House of Councillors for the second time. The Kagawa at-large district is a constituency of the House of Councillors in the Diet of Japan. It consists of Kagawa Prefecture and elects two Councillors, one every three years by a first-past-the-post system for a six-year term. In the first election in 1947, Kagawa like all districts used single non-transferable vote to elect both its Councillors in one election.

People's Life First was a short-lived political party in Japan. It had 37 out of the 480 seats in the House of Representatives, and 12 in the 242-member House of Councillors. On 28 November 2012, the party merged into Governor of Shiga Yukiko Kada's Japan Future Party based in Ōtsu.
