Cornelius Clifford Floyd Jr. is an American former Major League Baseball left fielder who played for 17 seasons, most notably for the Montreal Expos, Florida Marlins and New York Mets. He is currently a baseball analyst who co-hosts on Sirius XM Radio and appears on MLB Network.
The Florida Marlins' 2003 season was the 11th season for the Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise in the National League. The Marlins were the National League Wild Card winners, the National League Champions, and the World Series Champions. They defeated the New York Yankees in the World Series in six games to win their second World Series championship. The Marlins became the second team in baseball history to win a World Series championship despite being 10 or more games below .500 at some point in the season; the other team was the 1914 Boston Braves.
The 2000 New York Yankees season was the 98th season for the Yankees. New York was managed by Joe Torre. The team finished first in the American League East with a record of 87–74, 2.5 games ahead of the Boston Red Sox, after losing 15 of their final 18 games, including their last 7. Despite having the lowest winning percentage of any postseason qualifier in 2000, the Yankees won the World Series over the New York Mets in 5 games to win their 26th World Series title. They are, as of 2024, the last team to win World Series titles in consecutive years.
The Florida Marlins' 2004 season was the 12th season for the Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise in the National League. It would begin with the team attempting to improve on their season from 2003, where they were the defending World Series champion, having won the World Series in six games against the New York Yankees. Their manager was Jack McKeon. They played most of their home games at Pro Player Stadium. They played two against the Montreal Expos at Chicago's U.S. Cellular Field due to Hurricane Ivan. The team started off 8–1, but then collapsed and finished with a record of 83–79, third in the National League East, and missed the playoffs.
The Florida Marlins' 2002 season was the tenth season for the Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise in the National League. It would begin with the team attempting to improve on their season from 2001. Their manager was Jeff Torborg. They played home games at Pro Player Stadium. They finished with a record of 79–83, fourth in the National League East.
The Florida Marlins' 2000 season was the eighth season for the Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise in the National League. It would begin with the team attempting to improve on their season from 1999. Their manager was John Boles. They played home games at Pro Player Stadium. They finished with a record of 79–82, third in the National League East.
The Florida Marlins' 1997 season was the fifth season for the Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise in the National League. It would begin with the team attempting to improve on their season from 1996. Their manager was Jim Leyland. They played home games at Pro Player Stadium. They finished with a record of 92–70, posting the first winning season in franchise history and winning the NL Wild Card. They got through the National League playoffs and won the World Series over the Cleveland Indians.
The 2002 Boston Red Sox season was the 102nd season in the franchise's Major League Baseball history. The Red Sox finished second in the American League East with a record of 93 wins and 69 losses, 10+1⁄2 games behind the New York Yankees. The Red Sox did not qualify for the postseason, as the AL wild card went to the Anaheim Angels, who had finished second in the American League West with a record of 99–63.
Timothy Andrew Drew is an American former Major League Baseball player.
The 1991 Montreal Expos season was the 23rd season in franchise history. After several winning seasons, the Expos faltered in 1991, winning only 20 of its first 49 games. Manager Buck Rodgers was replaced as manager by Tom Runnells. The team ultimately finished 71–90. The highlight of the season was Dennis Martinez pitching a perfect game at Dodger Stadium on July 28, 1991.
The 2004 Montreal Expos season was the Expos′ 36th and final season in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The team finished in fifth and last place in the National League East at 67–95, 29 games behind the first-place Atlanta Braves. After the season, the team – which had played in Montreal since its foundation as an expansion franchise in 1969 – relocated to Washington, D.C., and became the Washington Nationals, as Major League Baseball returned to Washington for the 2005 season after a 33-season absence.
The 1993 Montreal Expos season was the 25th season of the franchise. The Expos finished in second place in the National League East, with a record of 94 wins and 68 losses, three games behind the National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies.
The 1995 Montreal Expos season was the 27th season in franchise history. They finished the season with a record of 66–78, a last place finish and 24 games behind the World Series champion Atlanta Braves.
The 1998 Montreal Expos season was the 30th season in franchise history.
The 1997 Montreal Expos season was the 29th season of the franchise. They finished 78–84, 23 games back of the Atlanta Braves in the National League East and 14 games back of the Florida Marlins in the Wild Card. They played the Toronto Blue Jays in Interleague play for the first time during the season.
The 2000 Montreal Expos season was the 32nd season in franchise history.
The 2001 Montreal Expos season was the 33rd season in franchise history.
The 2003 Montreal Expos season was the 35th season for the Expos in Montreal and its penultimate season in Canada. It involved the Expos attempting to win the National League East. On August 28, 2003, the Expos led the NL Wild Card, tied for first place with the Marlins, Astros, Phillies, and Cardinals, but faded away in the stretch and failed to make the postseason, finishing 18 games back of the Atlanta Braves in the NL East and 8 games back of the Florida Marlins in the Wild Card. The Expos' 2003 record of 83–79 was identical to the one they finished with the previous year. Part of this was due to the fact that when rosters expanded on September 1, MLB refused to allow the league owned team to add any players, saying they could not afford the cost.
The 1985 Montreal Expos season was the 17th season in franchise history. They finished with a record of 84–77, third in the National League East and 16 1/2 games behind the St. Louis Cardinals.
The 2002 Cleveland Indians season was the 102nd season for the franchise. The 2002 Major League Baseball season began on March 31, 2002.The team finished third in the American League Central behind the Minnesota Twins and the Chicago White Sox.
