The Nepali Congress is a social-democratic political party in Nepal. It is the largest opposition party in the House of Representatives and the National Assembly.
Pushpa Kamal Dahal, commonly known by his nom de guerrePrachanda, is a Nepalese politician, Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party and twice Prime Minister of Nepal, from 2008 to 2009 and from 2016 to 2017.

He has twice been elected as the leader of parliamentary party of the Nepali Congress, thus enabling him to be elected twice as the Prime Minister of Nepal.
The Rastriya Prajatantra Party is a monarchist and Hindu nationalist political party in Nepal. It was formed by former Prime Ministers, Surya Bahadur Thapa and Lokendra Bahadur Chand. The party has had two Prime Ministers, Thapa and Chand, serving two terms each since the end of the Rastriya Panchayat.
The House of Representatives is the lower house of the bicameral Federal parliament of Nepal, with the Upper house being the National Assembly. Members of the House of Representatives are elected through a parallel voting system. They hold their seats for five years or until the body is dissolved by the President on the advice of the council of ministers. The house meets in the International Convention Centre in Kathmandu.

Marich Man Singh Shrestha was a Nepali politician and former Prime Minister of Nepal. He was born in 1942 in Khalanga Bazar, Salyan, Nepal. He served as the Prime Minister of Nepal from 15 June 1986 to 6 April 1990, and is remembered as the last Prime Minister of the Panchayat period and the Prime Minister during the 1989 Indian economic blockade on Nepal. Prior to that, he was the speaker of the Rastriya Panchayat from 1981 to 1985. He is one of the only two non-Khas Prime Ministers of Nepal, both the exceptions having been Newar Shresthas. He is the first Newar to have assumed the full title of the Prime Minister of Nepal, second if we count Gehendra Bahadur Rajbhandari who was acknowledged as an Acting Prime Minister.
The Communist Party of Nepal Marxist−Leninist (Samajbadi) was a political party in Nepal. The party was founded on August 6, 2010, through a split in the Communist Party of Nepal (Marxist-Leninist). Four of the Constituent Assembly members of CPN (ML) joined the new party; Ganesh Chaudhary, Sharada Nepali, Tilak Bahadur Thapa Magar and Yadu Bansha Jha. The formation of the new party came just hours before the crucial 4th vote on election of Prime Minister. CPN-ML (Samajbadi) declared its support for Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the election.
Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli, more commonly known as K. P. Sharma Oli, is a Nepalese politician and the current Prime Minister of Nepal. Oli spent most of his youth in jail in critical health condition fighting against the autocratic Panchayat regime. He previously served as Prime Minister from 11 October 2015 to 3 August 2016 and was the first elected PM under the newly adopted Constitution of Nepal. He is praised and considered a nationalist for standing against India during the 2015 Nepal blockade, strengthening relationship with China and publishing an updated map of Nepal including disputed territories with India by constitutional amendment. His attitude towards Madheshi community during formation of Constitution of Nepal, hostility towards critics and inability to deliver in infrastructure development despite a historic majority in 2017 Nepalese legislative election is often criticized.

His songs Sathi, Aama, Aaudai chhu ma, Yo Prasanga, Antya Ko Suruwat etc. are popular hits. He was the creator and the presenter of the Popular Rap Battle show Raw Barz.
Bidhya Devi Bhandari is a Nepalese politician, serving as the 2nd President of Nepal, in office since 28 October 2015. She is the first woman to hold the office in the country. She was elected in a parliamentary vote, receiving 327 votes out of 549 against Kul Bahadur Gurung, the presidential candidate of the Nepali Congress. She previously served as the vice-chairperson of the Communist Party of Nepal and was the chair of the All Nepal Women's Association before being elected President.
The Nepal Loktantrik Forum was a political party in Nepal. The party was established on April 5, 2017, after merging with the Madheshi Jana Adhikar Forum (Democratic), the Rastriya Janamukti Party (Democratic), and the Dalit Janajati Party.
Legislative elections were held in Nepal in two phases on 26 November and 7 December 2017 to elect the 275 members of the fourth House of Representatives, the lower house of the Federal Parliament of Nepal. The election was held alongside the first provincial elections for the seven provincial assemblies. A political deadlock between the governing Nepali Congress and the winning left-wing coalition over the system used to elect the upper house led to delay in forming the new government. Following the announcement of final result by the Election Commission, K.P. Oli of Communist Party of Nepal was sworn in as Prime Minister on 15 February 2018 by the President according to Article 76 (2) of the constitution. He passed a Motion of Confidence on 11 March 2018 with 208 votes.
On 7 June 2017, Sher Bahadur Deuba got elected as the new Prime Minister of Nepal and therefore formed the new Governmental Cabinet of Nepal Deuba's candidacy was supported by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal, the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal, the Nepal Loktantrik Forum, the Federal Socialist Forum, Nepal and several small parties represented in the Nepalese Parliament after a power-sharing deal with the Communist Party of Nepal, who also supported Deuba's candidacy. After being sworn in, Deuba formed a new government in a coalition with the parties that supported his election. On 17 October 2017, in preparation for the Nepalese legislative election, the Communist Party of Nepal decided to cooperate with the Communist Party of Nepal. For this, all of their ministers left the cabinet after Prime Minister Deuba was prepared to dismiss them.
