Murat Käribaiūly Bektanov is a Kazakh military leader and was the Minister of Defence. He previously served as the Chief of the General Staff and Commander-in-Chief of the Kazakh Ground Forces.
Jambyl Aujanuly Ahmetbekov is a Kazakh politician, from 2007 to 2023 he was the Secretary of Central Committee of the People's Party of Kazakhstan, and from 2012 to 2023 a member of the Mazhilis. The COVID-19 pandemic in Kazakhstan was a part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. The virus was confirmed to have reached Kazakhstan on 13 March 2020 after two Kazakh citizens in Almaty returned from Germany. That same day, two more cases were confirmed, with one female arriving from Italy in Astana and the other from Germany in Almaty as well. Following the outbreak, on 15 March 2020, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev declared a state of emergency that was set to last until 15 April 2020. However, measures were prolonged in order to curb the transmission of the virus, leading to many notable holidays such as Nowruz and the Victory Day being cancelled. On 19 March 2020, a strict quarantine was placed on the cities of Astana and Almaty, where the most cases were occurring. On 30 March 2020, Atyrau and five cities in Karaganda Region went under a lockdown.
Bauyrjan Qydyrgaliuly Baibek is a Kazakh politician who served as the äkim of Almaty from 9 August 2015 to 28 June 2019. Along party lines. Baibek was the First Deputy Chairman of Nur Otan from 29 June 2019 to 2 February 2022 and previously from 17 January 2013 to 8 August 2015.

Älihan Ashanuly Smaiylov is a Kazakh politician who is serving as Prime Minister of Kazakhstan. Previously, he served as the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan under Askar Mamin. He at the same time served as the Minister of Finance from September 2018 until May 2020. Smaiylov was nominated as the new prime minister of Kazakhstan by the country's president following the 2022 Kazakh protests. His candidacy was unanimously approved by the country's parliament. Tamara Kasymqyzy Duisenova is a Kazakh politician, Deputy Prime Minister, and also holds the post of the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population since April 2022. She previously served in same post from June 2013 to August 2014 and from January 2017 to February 2018, Minister of Healthcare and Social Development from August 2014 to January 2017.

The 2020 Dungan–Kazakh ethnic clashes or Korday conflict was an ethnic conflict between ethnic Kazakhs and ethnic Dungans in the village of Masanchi within the Korday District of Kazakhstan. As a result of the conflict, 11 people died, 185 were injured and 47 persons were arrested. It provoked damages costing around KZ₸1.7 billion and the displacement of around 20,000 people to neighboring Kyrgyzstan.
Abai Region is a region of Kazakhstan. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced on 16 March 2022 that the region would be created. The area split off from East Kazakhstan Region when Tokayev's bill came into force on 8 June 2022. The administrative center of the region is Semey. Its borders roughly correspond to the old Semipalatinsk Region which was liquidated in 1997 and merged with East Kazakhstan Region.
Ulytau Region is a region of Kazakhstan. The administrative center of the region is the city of Jezkazgan. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced on 16 March 2022 that the region would be created. The area split off from Karaganda Region when Tokayev's bill came into force on 8 June 2022. On 11 June 2022 Berik Bakhytovich Abdygaliev was appointed akim of the Ulytau region. The region's borders roughly correspond to the western half of the old Jezkazgan Region which was liquidated in 1997 and merged with Karaganda Region.
The People's Coalition, officially the People's Coalition of Political Parties and Public Associations "For the Reforms of Tokayev", is a political coalition in Kazakhstan formed on 6 October 2022 from various pro-government political parties and republican public associations in support of incumbent President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's reelection bid for the 2022 presidential election.
Following the 2023 Kazakh legislative election, a process of government formation took place in Kazakhstan as incumbent prime minister Älihan Smaiylov alongside his cabinet resigned from the position on 29 March 2023 to serve briefly as acting minister before a new government was appointed.
