The 2024 Eliteserien is the 80th season of top-tier football in Norway. This is the eighth season of Eliteserien after rebranding from Tippeligaen.
The season started on 31 March 2024 and is scheduled to end on 1 December 2024, not including play-off matches. [1]
Bodø/Glimt are the defending champions. Fredrikstad, KFUM Oslo and Kristiansund joined as the promoted clubs from the 2023 Norwegian First Division. They replaced Vålerenga, Stabæk and Aalesund, who were relegated to the 2024 Norwegian First Division.
Sixteen teams compete in the league – the top thirteen teams from the previous season and three teams promoted from the First Division. The promoted teams were Fredrikstad, KFUM Oslo and Kristiansund. Kristiansund were promoted after a season's absence, Fredrikstad were promoted after 11 seasons absent and KFUM Oslo were promoted for the first time in history from this season. They replaced Vålerenga, Stabæk and Aalesund, ending their top flight spells of 22 years, 1 year and 2 years respectively.

The 2012 Norwegian Football Cup was the 107th season of the Norwegian annual knockout football tournament. It began with qualification matches in April 2012. The first round was played on 1 May 2012 and the tournament ended with the final on 25 November 2012. Aalesund was the defending champions, having beaten Brann 2–1 in last season's final, but was eliminated by Sandefjord in the fourth round.
The 2016 Norwegian Football Cup was the 111th season of the Norwegian annual knock-out football tournament. It began with qualification matches in March 2016. The first round was played on 13 April 2016 and the tournament concluded with the final on 20 November 2016.
Odds Ballklubb, commonly known as Odd, is a Norwegian football club from Skien. Originally the football section of a multi-sports club, founded in 1894 nine years after the club's founding. All other sports than football were discontinued and the club became dedicated to football only. Odd plays in the Norwegian top division, Tippeligaen, and holds the record winning the Norwegian Football Cup the most times, the last coming in 2000. The club was known as Odd Grenland between 1994 and 2012. During the 2018 season the club will be participating in the Eliteserien and NM Cupen.
The 2019 Eliteserien was the 75th season of top-tier football in Norway. This was third season of Eliteserien as rebranding from Tippeligaen.
The 2019 season was Bodø/Glimt's second season back in the Eliteserien since their relegation at the end of the 2016 season. Bodø/Glimt finished the season in second position, qualifying for the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. In the Norwegian Cup, they were knocked out by Strømmen in the second round.
The 2020 Eliteserien was the 76th season of top-tier football in Norway. This was fourth season of Eliteserien as rebranding from Tippeligaen.

The 2021 Eliteserien was the 77th completed season of top-tier football in Norway. This was fifth season of Eliteserien as rebranding from Tippeligaen.
The 2022 Eliteserien was the 78th season of top-tier football in Norway. This was the sixth season of Eliteserien after rebranding from Tippeligaen. Molde were crowned the champions at the end of the season, winning their 5th Norwegian league title.
The 2023 Eliteserien was the 79th season of top-tier football in Norway. This was the seventh season of Eliteserien after rebranding from Tippeligaen. Bodø/Glimt were crowned the champions at the end of the season, winning their 3rd Norwegian league title.
The 2023 season is Rosenborg's 44th consecutive year in the top flight now known as Eliteserien, their 55th season in the top flight of Norwegian football. They will participate in Eliteserien, 2022 Cup, 2023 Cup and the Europa Conference League entering at the Second Qualifying round.This was Kjetil Rekdal's second season as Rosenborg manager, but on 16 June he was sacked. Svein Maalen took over as interim manager with Trond Henriksen as assistant.
The 2023 season was Viking's 5th consecutive year in the Eliteserien, and their 73rd season in the top flight of Norwegian football. The club participated in the Eliteserien, the 2022 Norwegian Football Cup and the 2023 Norwegian Football Cup. It was the club's third season with Bjarte Lunde Aarsheim and Morten Jensen as managers.
The 2023 season was Vålerenga Fotball's 110th season in existence and the club's 22nd consecutive season in the top flight of Norwegian football. In addition to the domestic league, Vålerenga Fotball participated in this season's edition of the Norwegian Football Cup.
The 2022 season was Tromsø IL's 102nd season in existence and the club's third consecutive season in the top flight of Norwegian football. In addition to the domestic league, Tromsø IL participated in this season's edition of the Norwegian Football Cup.
The 2024 season is Rosenborg's 45th consecutive year in the top flight now known as Eliteserien, their 56th season in the top flight of Norwegian football. They will participate in Eliteserien and 2024 Cup. This will be Alfred Johansson's first season in charge of Rosenborg.
The 2024 season is Sandefjord Fotball's 26th season in existence and the club's fifth consecutive season in the top flight of Norwegian football. In addition to the domestic league, Sandefjord Fotball participated in this season's edition of the Norwegian Football Cup.
The 2024 season is FK Bodø/Glimt's 108th season in existence and the club's seventh consecutive season in the top flight of Norwegian football. The club played their first official match this season against the Dutch club Ajax, in the 2023–24 Europa Conference League.
The 2024 season is Strømsgodset Toppfotball's 117th season in existence and the club's 12th consecutive season in the top flight of Norwegian football. In addition to the domestic league, Strømsgodset Toppfotball participating in this season's edition of the Norwegian Football Cup.
