Altyn Asyr, meaning "Golden Age" in Turkmen, is one of the seven television channels owned by the government in Turkmenistan. [2] It is mainly focused on broadcasting the news in Turkmenistan.

The Watan Habarlary newscast airs at 7:00 and 21:00. The channel's TV startup is at 7:00, while the closedown is usually at 1:00. [3]

The Altyn Asyr's clock ident is the same as all other news channels excluding the Türkmen Owazy and Aşgabat channels.

The Altyn Asyr no longer plays Russia's Channel One Russia since 1998. [4]

Football Club Altyn Asyr, also known as Altyn Asyr Ashgabat or simply Altyn Asyr, which translates to "Golden Century", is a Turkmen professional football club based in Ashgabat. Founded in 2008, the club competes in the Ýokary Liga, the top tier of Turkmen football. It has remained there ever since, winning the Turkmenistan Higher League championship eight times in a row. The club also won the Turkmenistan Cup for 5 times in 2009, 2015, 2016, 2019 and 2020 and has been regular in AFC Cup recently. The team plays in the Ashgabat Stadium.

The 2009 Turkmenistan Higher League season was the seventeenth season of Turkmenistan's professional football league. It began on 25 April 2009 with the first round of games and ended on 7 November 2009 with the 18th round of matches. FC Aşgabat is the defending champions. The first half of the season finished on 27 June 2009. The kick-off of the second half was on 4 September 2009.

The Turkmenistan Cup 2009 is 17th since independence of the Turkmen national football cup. The competition will start on August 9, 2009 and finish with the Final played on a date to be announced.

Buzmeyin Sport Complex is a stadium in Büzmeýin District, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. It is currently used mostly for football matches. It has a capacity of 10,000 people. It is the home of Ýokary Liga club Altyn Asyr FK.
