Anders Karl Daniel Eldebrink (born 11 December 1960) is a Swedish former ice hockey defenceman who played in the SEL in the 1970s and 1980s. He also played 165 games for the Swedish national team.

Playing career

Eldebrink began his career at age 16 in 1976 in the Swedish Elite League. Playing for Södertälje SK, he was named Player of the Year in 1985 and MVP in 1988 and 1989. They won the league championship in 1985. Later he played in Switzerland for EHC Kloten, winning the league championship in 1993, 1994, and 1995. He also played two NHL seasons with the Vancouver Canucks and Quebec Nordiques.

Internationally, he was on the 1984 and 1987 Swedish Canada Cup teams, which made the final in 1984; the IIHF World Championships gold medal team in 1987; and the Olympic Bronze medal team in 1988. He was named to the World Championship all-star team in 1989.

On 14 April 2014 it was announced that he had been appointed to the Swedish Hockey Hall of Fame. [1]

Coaching career

After his playing career, Eldebrink became Sports Manager of the Södertälje SK team in 1998.

When Vladimir Yurzinov was released as the coach of EHC Kloten in October 2004, Anders Eldebrink became the new coach for the Flyers. His assistant coach is his former teammate Felix Hollenstein.

During the 2012–13 Elitserien season, Eldebrink replaced Per-Erik Johnsson as head coach of AIK IF. [2]

Personal

He is the younger brother of the former athlete Kenth Eldebrink and cousin of former ice hockey defenceman Robert Nordmark.

AIK's home games are mainly played at Hovet, which seats 8,050 spectators, though some high-profile games may be played at Avicii Arena which has a larger capacity of 13,850.

EHC Kloten is an ice hockey team based in the city of Kloten in Switzerland. The team plays in the National League (NL). It has one of the best youth systems in Swiss ice hockey as its youth teams have won 19 championships during the last 50 years. EHC Kloten won four consecutive Swiss championships from 1993 to 1996. They had never been relegated until the 2017–18 season. They returned to the NL following the 2021-22 season.

Bert Erik Johan Robertsson is a Swedish former professional ice hockey defenceman and current head coach of Linköpings HC of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He was the head coach for Almtuna IS in Allsvenskan in the 2007–08 season, but he was replaced by Leif Boork in November 2007 because of poor results. He is a European scout of the Toronto Maple Leafs and used to be a European scout for the Edmonton Oilers. Nordmark is a cousin of former athlete Kenth Eldebrink and former ice hockey defenceman Anders Eldebrink.

Hans Särkijärvi is a Swedish ice hockey coach and former player. Särkijärvi started his playing career in his hometown team Kiruna AIF in 1973. He only played a few games in the senior team before moving to Stockholm-based Djurgårdens IF. The eight seasons he spent in Djurgården included a Swedish championship in 1983. Särkijärvi joined Södertälje SK for the 1983–84 season, where he also won a Swedish championship in 1985. After six seasons in Södertälje Särkijärvi ended his elite playing career and started to play in Sollefteå HK where he only stayed for one season. Marcus Karlström is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing with HV71 of the HockeyAllsvenskan (Allsv). He has formerly played with AIK IF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Karlstrom was selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the 7th round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
