A badge known as the Civil Defence Triangle was awarded to servicemen from the then Singapore Joint Civil Defence Forces and Singapore Fire Service. The badge was only awarded for the Hotel New World incident and is classified as an award.

Singapore Civil Defence Force

The Singapore Civil Defence Force is an emergency service in Singapore under the Ministry of Home Affairs that provides firefighting, technical rescue, and emergency medical services and coordinates national civil defence.

The National Civil Defence Cadet Corps (NCDCC) of Singapore was formed in 2005 and is currently the newest recognised member of the National Uniformed Group. The creation of this Uniformed Group was initiated by the Ministry of Home Affairs in response to the need for the young leaders of tomorrow to have a firm pillar and grounding in Singapore's firm belief of Total Defence.

The Volunteer Special Constabulary (VSC) is an important component of the Singapore Police Force, contributing more than seventy years of volunteer service to the nation. The VSC officers are imbued with equal powers of a regular police officer to enforce law and order in Singapore.

The Civil Defence Auxiliary Unit (CDAU) is part of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) consisting of uniformed volunteers.

Moosa Ali Jaleel

Major General (Retired) Moosa Ali Jaleel M.Phil. MSc ndc psc is a retired Major General of the Maldives National Defence Force who served as the 3rd Chief of Defence Force of Maldives National Defence Force from 18 November 2008 until 7 February 2012. MG (Rtd) Moosa Jaleel also held office as the Minister of Defence from January to October 2015 during the presidency of Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

In the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), specialists are the group of ranks equivalent to non-commissioned officers in other armed forces. This term was introduced in 1993, for a more "positive" rank classification and shorter waiting time for WOSPEC career soldiers' rank advancements. In the SAF, warrant officers are not considered specialists.

St John Singapore

St John Singapore, previously known as St John Ambulance Singapore, is a voluntary secular organisation in Singapore which provides training in First Aid and Home Nursing. It is affiliated with the Order of St. John based in the UK. Its ambulance members and nursing members perform voluntary first aid coverage duties during national events and other events. It comprises 3 sub-organisations, namely the St John Brigade Singapore, St John Association Singapore, St John Fellowship Singapore.

Neo Kian Hong is a Singaporean civil servant who is currently Chief Executive Officer of SMRT Corporation Ltd. Previously, he was Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Defence. He joined the civil service and became Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education in 2013, after retiring from the Singapore Armed Forces as its seventh Chief of Defence Force.

The Pingat Jasa Gemilang is a Singaporean national honour and medal instituted in 1962. It may be awarded to any person who has performed "service of conspicuous merit characterised by resource and devotion to duty, including long service marked by exceptional ability, merit and exemplary conduct within Singapore". It may also be awarded to any person outside of Singapore under exceptional circumstances.

Winston Choo Wee Leong is a Singaporean diplomat, civil servant and former general. He was the first Chief of Defence Force of the Singapore Armed Forces from 1974–1992 and held the rank of Lieutenant-General.

Individual physical proficiency test

The Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) is a standard physical fitness test used by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) to test the basic components of physical fitness and motor skills of their members. The IPPT is applicable to all eligible persons with National Service (NS) liability, including Full-Time National Servicemen (NSFs), Operationally-Ready National Servicemen, and regulars. The test presently consists of three stations: sit-up, push-up, and 2.4 kilometres run. Based on their age, sex and vocation, persons taking the IPPT are required to meet certain standards under the IPPT Standards and Scoring System in order to pass the test. As of October 2013, about 116,000 people take the IPPT every year. Personnel who are classified in PES E are exempt from participating in this test.

The primary governmental uniformed services of Denmark have Long Service Medals that may be awarded after 25 years of service.
Besides the normal 25 year medals, the Order of Dannebrog may also be awarded to high-ranking officers after 25 years service, or sometimes as a retirement-decoration.
After 40 years of public service the Medal of Merit may be awarded.

Perry Lim Singaporean army general

Perry Lim Cheng Yeow is a former Singaporean army general and Chief of Defence Force of the Singapore Armed Forces. He held the rank of Lieutenant-General. Lim decided to retire from the SAF on 23 March 2018 to pursue his personal endeavors, and was succeeded by Melvyn Ong as the new Chief of Defence Force.

Melvyn Ong Singaporean military officer

Melvyn Ong Su Kiat is a Singapore army general and the current Chief of Defence Force of the Singapore Armed Forces as of 23 March 2018. Before promotion to CDF, he was the Chief of the Singapore Army until 21 March 2018. He holds the rank of Lieutenant-General.
