Police-General Badrodin Haiti was the Chief of the Indonesian National Police from 16 January 2015 until 13 July 2016,succeeding,Police-General Sutarman. On 16 January 2015 Badrodin was appointed by Indonesian President Joko Widodo to be the Acting Chief of Indonesian National Police replacing Sutarman,who officially retired from the service and awaiting for elected Police Chief Police-Commissioner General Budi Gunawan who was a suspect on a corruption case. [1] [2] On 16 April 2015,he was confirmed unanimously by Indonesian House of Representatives and sworn in by President Joko Widodo on 17 April 2015. He was replaced by Police-General Tito Karnavian. In 2020,he was appointed as President Commissioner at state-owned construction firm Waskita Karya. [4]
Law enforcement in Indonesia is mainly performed by the Indonesian National Police (POLRI),together with other law enforcement agencies which are under the president,a certain ministry or State-owned company (BUMN) which perform policing duties for a certain public service,these law enforcement agencies are under supervision and are trained by the Indonesian National Police. The 2018 Surabaya bombings were a series of terrorist attacks that initially occurred on 13 May 2018 in three churches in Surabaya,the second largest city in Indonesia and the capital of East Java province.
