Christian Wilkins (born December 20, 1995) is an American football defensive tackle for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Clemson and was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Wilkins is a native of Springfield, Massachusetts. He originally attended Framingham High School, before transferring to Suffield Academy in Suffield, Connecticut, after his freshman year. [1] In 35 games in high school he had 253 tackles and 28.5 sacks. [2] Wilkins was rated as a five-star recruit and was ranked among the top players in his class. [3] He committed to play college football at Clemson University. [4]
As a freshman at Clemson in 2015, Wilkins played in 15 games with one start and had 33 tackles and two sacks. [5] [6] As a sophomore in 2016, he was named an All-American by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and was a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy. [7] Wilkins was part of the Clemson team that defeated top-ranked Alabama in the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship by a score of 35–31. He also was part of Clemson’s 2018 team that defeated Alabama in the National Championship game led by Trevor Lawrence 44-16. [8] In the Florida State game and South Carolina game of 2018, Wilkins scored a touchdown for the Tigers.

Wilkins was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the first round (13th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. [12] In a Week 7 loss of 21-31 to the Buffalo Bills, Wilkins was ejected after throwing a punch at Cody Ford on the second play of the game. [13] In Week 9 against the New York Jets, Wilkins recorded his first career sack on Sam Darnold in the 26–18 win. [14] In Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals, Wilkins recorded his first career touchdown reception on a pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick in the 38–35 overtime victory. [15]
In Week 8 of the 2020 season against the Los Angeles Rams, Wilkins recorded his first career interception off a pass thrown by Jared Goff during the 28–17 win. [16] Wilkins was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list by the team on November 12, 2020, [17] and activated on November 25. [18]
In Week 15 of 2021 against the Jets, Wilkins lined up at fullback and recorded his second career touchdown on a flea flicker pass from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. [19]
The Dolphins picked up the fifth-year option on Wilkins' contract on April 28, 2022. [20]
Wilkins finished 2023 with a career-high nine sacks, establishing himself as a top tier player at his position. [21]
On March 14, 2024, the Las Vegas Raiders signed Wilkins to a four-year deal worth $110 million, with $84.75 million guaranteed. [22]

Rubin Andre Carter is an American football coach and former player in the National Football League (NFL) A defensive end, he played college football for the California Golden Bears, and was a unanimous All-American. The San Francisco 49ers selected him with the seventh overall pick in the 2001 NFL draft, and he also played for the Washington Redskins, New England Patriots and Oakland Raiders. Carter currently is a pass rush specialist for the Las Vegas Raiders.
Zachary Michael Thomas is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons. He played college football for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, and was recognized as a unanimous All-American. He was selected in the fifth round, 22nd pick, in the 1996 NFL draft by the Miami Dolphins, and played for the Dolphins in his first 12 seasons in the NFL, before playing his 13th and final season with the Dallas Cowboys.
Da'Quan Bowers is an American former professional football defensive end. He was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round of the 2011 NFL draft. Lawson has been on the Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans and was traded to the New York Jets during the 2021 season. Carl Paul Nassib is an American former professional football player who was a defensive end and linebacker for seven seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions, earning unanimous All-American honors as a senior in 2015. Nassib was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft. He also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Las Vegas Raiders. In 2021 Nassib became the first active NFL player to publicly come out as gay and to play in a game.
