Clayton McCullough (born December 27,1979) is an American professional baseball coach and former minor league baseball catcher. He is the first base coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball.
McCullough played at Rose High School in Greenville,North Carolina. He was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 47th round of the 1998 MLB Draft [1] but did not sign and played college baseball at East Carolina University instead. During his collegiate career for the Pirates,he batted .272 with 11 home runs and 82 RBI and earned second team All-Colonial Athletic Association honors as a Junior as well as making a couple of All-Regional teams in three appearances in the NCAA baseball tournament. McCullough was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 22nd round of the 2002 MLB Draft. He played in the Indians minor league system through 2005,playing for the Burlington Indians in 2002,Lake County Captains in 2003,Lake County and the Kinston Indians in 2004,Kinston,Akron Aeros and Buffalo Bisons in 2005. In 104 games,he had a batting average of .197 with one home run and 25 RBI. [1]
After one season as a volunteer assistant coach for East Carolina, [2] McCullough served as a manager in Minor League Baseball for the Toronto Blue Jays organization from 2007 to 2014,working in the Rookie and Class-A leagues and compiling a record of 629–559. [3] before being hired by the Dodgers as their Minor League Field Coordinator. The Dodgers named McCullough their Major League first base coach for the 2021 season. [3]
William Joseph Haselman is an American professional baseball coach and former player. He played as a catcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 13 seasons between 1990 and 2003. A first-round selection in the 1987 MLB draft,he played for the Texas Rangers,Seattle Mariners,Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers. He later was the bullpen coach and first base coach for the Red Sox,and currently is the third base and catching coach for the Los Angeles Angels. He has also served as a manager in the minor leagues.
Ryan Francis Garko is a former professional baseball outfielder,first baseman,and designated hitter. In college,he was a catcher. He played for the Cleveland Indians,the San Francisco Giants,and the Texas Rangers in Major League Baseball as well as the Samsung Lions in the Korea Baseball Organization. Garko was seen by former ESPN reporter John Sickels as a good hitter who hit to all parts of the field,but with poor defensive instincts. Through 2010,he had a .275 career average,427 hits,55 home runs,and 250 RBI in 463 games.
Andre Everett Ethier is an American former professional baseball outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2006 to 2017 and is second all-time in post-season appearances as a Dodger with 51.
Wayne Leonard Kirby is an American former professional baseball right fielder and current coach. He is currently the first base coach for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was the outfield/base-running coordinator for the Texas Rangers from 2006 through 2010. From 2011 through 2018,Kirby was the Baltimore Orioles first base and outfield coach. His younger brother is former NFL running back Terry Kirby.
