Corey Grant (born December 22, 1976) is the head coach for the Carleton Ravens football team of U Sports. He is a former professional wide receiver in the Canadian Football League where he played for 11 years and won two Grey Cup championships. [1]
Grant played CIAU football for the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks from 1995 to 1998. [2]
Upon completing his university career, Grant was drafted by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats with the seventh overall pick in the 1999 CFL Draft. He played and started in all 18 regular season games where he had 56 catches for 875 yards and three touchdowns and won the Frank M. Gibson Trophy as the East Division's Most Outstanding Rookie. [1] He capped off the season by winning his first Grey Cup championship as the Tiger-Cats defeated the Calgary Stampeders in the 87th Grey Cup game. [3] He spent the 2000 and 2001 seasons with the Tiger-Cats before becoming a free agent.
Ahead of the 2002 season, Grant signed with the Montreal Alouettes. [1] He played in 13 games where he had 25 receptions for 385 yards. [1]
Midway through the 2002 CFL season, Grant was traded to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in exchange for second round draft picks in the 2003 CFL Draft and the 2004 CFL Draft. [1] He dressed as a backup receiver for the remaining five regular season games and the East Semi-Final. [1] In 2003, he played in all 18 regular season games where he had 39 catches for 511 yards and three touchdowns. He played for the Roughriders for seven seasons which was highlighted by the 2007 Grey Cup victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers where Grant had two receptions for 20 yards in the championship game. Grant returned to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on June 26, 2009. [5] He played in eight regular season games where he had nine catches for 89 yards and one touchdown. [6] He retired just prior to the 2010 CFL season on June 3, 2010. [7]
Following his playing career, Grant was hired by the McMaster Marauders to serve as the team's receivers coach beginning with the 2010 season. [8] In 2011, the Marauders won the first Vanier Cup in program history as the team defeated the Laval Rouge et Or in the 47th Vanier Cup. Under Grant's coaching, receiver Michael DiCroce was named the OUA MVP that year. Grant spent two years with the Marauders but left the program in 2012.
On March 21, 2013, Grant was named the running backs coach and offensive quality control coach for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. [9] He spent six seasons with the Tiger-Cats where the team made two appearances in the Grey Cup. [10]
Grant returned to the McMaster Marauders on January 31, 2019, where he was named the team's offensive coordinator. [10] He spent three years and two seasons in that capacity, where the team won the Yates Cup in his first season, but failed to qualify for the playoffs with a 3–3 record in the COVID-19 shortened 2021 season. While at McMaster, Grant established the Female Coaching Apprenticeship program, the first of its kind in U SPORTS in which two assistant coaching positions were recruited and filled. [11]
On March 18, 2022, it was announced that Grant had been hired as the head coach for the Carleton Ravens. [12]
Grant and his wife, Jennifer, have two children, Qiawna and Devonn. [13]
Chad Owens Sr. is a former professional Canadian football wide receiver and kick returner. He was most recently a member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the sixth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. Owens played college football at Hawaii. He spent six seasons playing for the Toronto Argonauts, and has also been a member of the Montreal Alouettes and Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Jason Maas is the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL) and a former Canadian football quarterback in the CFL. He is best known for his playing career with the Edmonton Eskimos where he won two Grey Cup championships. He also played for the Alouettes and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He has coached the Toronto Argonauts, Ottawa Redblacks, and Saskatchewan Roughriders and was the head coach of the Eskimos from 2016 to 2019.
Andrew Fantuz is a former professional Canadian football wide receiver. Fantuz spent the majority of his professional career with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played for the Riders for six seasons after he was drafted by them in the first round of the 2006 CFL Draft. He then played six seasons for the Tiger-Cats. Fantuz was also signed by the Chicago Bears in 2011. He played CIS football for the Western Ontario Mustangs.

Richard Kent Austin is an American gridiron football coach and former player, who is currently a senior analyst under head coach Hugh Freeze at Auburn. Austin served as the head football coach at Cornell University from 2010 to 2012. He was the head coach of the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 2007 and CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats from 2013 to 2017 and the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia from 2019 to 2022.
Archie J. Amerson is an American former professional Canadian football running back and slotback who played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) from 1997 to 2004, appearing in 122 regular season games for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and one regular season game for the Toronto Argonauts. In 1999, he was part of the Tiger-Cats team that won the 87th Grey Cup. He missed the entire 2005 season due to injury and was released by the Tiger-Cats afterwards. At the time of his release, Amerson was one of the most prolific receivers in Tiger-Cats history, ranking third in receptions, fourth in receiving yards, fifth in kickoff return yards, and sixth in touchdowns.
Marquay McDaniel is a former professional Canadian football wide receiver. He played for 10 seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL), six with the Calgary Stampeders and four with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He was originally signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2007. McDaniel was named a CFL All-Star in 2013, and won a Grey Cup championship in 2014. He played college football for the Hampton Pirates.
DeVier Stewart Posey is an American professional gridiron football wide receiver who is currently a free agent. He most recently played for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was drafted by the Houston Texans in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He played college football at Ohio State. Timothy Allynn Kearse is a former American football wide receiver and coach. Originally from York, Pennsylvania, Kearse played college football at San Jose State, where he led all of NCAA Division I-A in receptions in 1981. He was selected in the 11th round of the 1983 NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers. Kearse began his pro football career in the CFL with the BC Lions and Saskatchewan Roughriders before making his NFL debut in 1987 with the Indianapolis Colts and concluding his pro football career in 1988 with the Roughriders. Following his playing career, Kearse coached Canadian football at the high school, semi-pro, and CFL levels in various stints from 1991 to 2011.
