David Wayne Lewis (born June 8, 1961) is an American former professional football player who was a tight end in the National Football League (NFL).

Early life

Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Lewis played scholastically at Grant High School. [1] , where he was selected as a high school All-American by the National High School Athletic Coaches Association. [2] He played college football for the California Golden Bears for three seasons, [3] and, as a junior, was honored by Gannett News Service as a first-team All-American. [4]

Professional career

Lewis was selected by the Lions as their first pick (20th overall) in the 1984 NFL draft. [5] [6] The Lions cut him before the start of the 1987 season, and he was signed by the Miami Dolphins one month later as a replacement player. [7] He was one of the last replacement players to be cut from the roster once the veteran players returned from the 1987 NFL player's strike, and was re-signed by the Dolphins in December. George William Wilson, Sr. was a professional football end and later a coach for the National Football League (NFL)'s Detroit Lions and the American Football League (AFL)'s Miami Dolphins. Wilson attended and played football at Northwestern University. He went undrafted in 1937, before being signed by the Chicago Bears. Wilson played for ten seasons with the Bears, compiling overall record of 111 pass receptions, 1,342 receiving yards, and fifteen touchdowns. He was a member of the Bears during their five appearances in the National Football League Championship Game from 1940–1943 and 1946. Additionally, he was selected for the NFL All-Star Game from 1940–1942. He also played one season of professional basketball for the Chicago Bruins in 1939–40. Wilson won seven championships combined as a player and coach.

Sidney H. Abramowitz is an American former professional football player who played offensive tackle for four seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Baltimore Colts in the fifth round of the 1983 NFL draft. Abramowitz played college football at Air Force and Tulsa.

George William Wilson, Jr. was an American football player. He played college football at Xavier University and professionally for the American Football League's (AFL) 1966 expansion team, the Miami Dolphins. In 1965, Wilson was selected in the 20th round of the National Football League (NFL) draft by the Detroit Lions, with the overall 277th pick. However, he eventually signed with the AFL's Buffalo Bills, who drafted him as the 96th pick in the 12th round of the Red Shirt draft. In 1966, Wilson was traded to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a 13th round 1967 draft pick. At the time, the Dolphins' head coach was his father, George Wilson, Sr.
