The European Para Youth Games (EPYG) is a biennial multi-sport event for young para-athletes aged between 13 and 23 from the member countries of the European Paralympic Committee (EPC). [1] [2] [3] [4]

2019

Italy topped the medal table with 14 gold, 8 silver and 8 bronze medals closely followed by France with 12 and Germany with 11. [11] [12] [13]

2022

The 6th edition took place in Lathi, Finland between 27 June and 4 July 2022.

2025

In August 2023, seven countries were interested in hosting the 7th edition in 2025. [14] In February 2024, Portugal and Turkey submitted bids for the games. [15]

The 2020 Summer Paralympics, branded as the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, were an international multi-sport parasports event held from 24 August to 5 September 2021 in Tokyo, Japan. They were the 16th Summer Paralympic Games as organized by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

The 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games, officially known as the VII Commonwealth Youth Games and informally as Trinbago 2023, was a youth sporting event for members of the Commonwealth that was held in Trinidad and Tobago. They were the seventh edition of the Commonwealth Youth Games. The games were initially scheduled between 1 and 7 August 2021 but were postponed and held from 4 to 11 August 2023 as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic and scheduling issues with the 2020 Summer Olympics and the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The 2015 IBSA Judo European Championships were held in Odivelas, Portugal, from 25–30 November 2015. It was held at the Multiusos Sports Hall in the city. The championship was the 13th to be held and was the last event whereby European athletes could collect points for qualification to the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio. Each country could send a maximum of two competitors per eight division. The competition is open to all classification of visually impaired athlete, who compete against each other.

The IBSA European Judo Championships is an event organized by the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA). It is a paralympic judo competition, that is judo for visually impaired athletes. Organised biennially, the competition is not run during years when the IBSA World Judo Championships or the Summer Paralympics are contested.

The IBSA World Games or World Blind Games are an international multi-sport event, occurring every four years, organized by the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA). The events enable blind and partially sighted athletes to compete in a number of sports. The first event took place at Madrid, Spain in 1998.

Football 5-a-side at the 2020 Summer Paralympics was held at the Aomi Urban Sports Venue in Tokyo.

The GCC Games is a regional multi-sport event which involves participants from the Gulf Cooperation Council region. The GCC Games, a quadrennial multi-sport event, was established by the union and first held in 2011. There are numerous long-running GCC Championships for individual sports, including: the Gulf Cooperation Council Athletics Championships football, Archery, athletics, Badminton, sailing, basketball, Swimming, Marathon Swimming, Diving, Water Polo, Artistic Swimming, tennis, gymnastics, weightlifting, futsal, snooker, Cycling, Chess and table tennis. The 3rd edition of the game had to be organized in June 2019, but held in 2022 due to the internal issues between the GCC state countries. The 4th edition has been announced and will happen as per the announced dates. For the first time the games will be organized by the new, young and talented faces of GCC team.

Iryna Husieva is a Ukrainian Paralympic judoka. She represented Ukraine at the 2016 Summer Paralympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and she won the silver medal in the women's 63 kg event. She also won the silver medal in the women's 63 kg event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics held in Tokyo, Japan.

Algerian men's national goalball team is the men's national team of Algeria. Goalball is a team sport designed specifically for athletes with a vision impairment. The team takes part in international goalball competitions.

IBSA Africa Goalball Championships is one of the four competition regions used for World Championships and Paralympic Games qualification for goalball, a team sport for the vision-impaired.

Maria Odete Ferreira Fiúza is a Portuguese Paralympic athlete who competes in international elite events. She specialises in the marathon. She has competed at six Paralympic Games from 2000 to 2020 Summer Paralympics.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2022 European Para Youth Games</span>

The 2022 European Para Youth Games were the 6th edition of the European Para Youth Games (EPYG), a multi-sport event for young para-athletes aged between 13 and 23 from the member countries of the European Paralympic Committee (EPC). They were held between 27 June and 4 July 2022 in Lahti, Finland. 415 athletes from 28 countries took part. This was the second time Lahti had hosted the event, having also hosted the previous edition in 2019.
