The Florida State University College of Fine Arts, located in Tallahassee, Florida, is one of sixteen colleges comprising the Florida State University (FSU).

The College of Fine Arts includes six programs and four additional Fine Arts facilities on Florida State's main Tallahassee campus:
In 2015, the College changed its name to the Florida State University College of Fine Arts from the Florida State University College of Visual Arts, Theatre And Dance.[2]The college underwent a lengthy process to change the name, including meetings with faculty, chairs and directors, as well as votes from the faculty, council of deans, FSU Faculty and the Board of Trustees.
In 2016, the Department of Art was ranked the top Master of Fine Arts program in the state of Florida by U.S. News & World Report. [3]
The Facilities for Arts Research (FAR) experiments with technology such as 3D printing and creating artists books with the Small Craft Advisory Press. [4]
The Department of Art History was the first program in the state to offer a doctoral degree in the field of art history.
Along with the four art and design departments, Florida State University's College of Fine Arts also governs The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida, and The Museum of Fine Arts (MoFA), which is housed on FSU's main campus. The Ringling Museum houses an extensive collection of Asian art, theatre artifacts, European and American art, and modern art. Students from the art history and art education departments have the opportunity to study at The Ringling Museum. The Museum of Fine Arts hosts exhibitions from students and artists in the local community as well as individuals. The MoFA is also home to a permanent collection of over 6,000 donated works which include African sculpture, modern American paintings, Japanese ukiyo-e prints, and a wealth of other pieces.
The Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training, the college's MFA Acting program, is in a separate campus in Sarasota.
The School of Dance is home to the dance research center, the Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography (MANCC).
In 2022, it was the first year that MFA students curated a show in the WJB Gallery. The students focused on a collaboration called "Between the Lines" that explored how the artists conversed with the written language. The exhibit will be on view from December 2022 until January 10, 2023. [5]
The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training graduate program was relocated to Sarasota in 1973 to form a permanent relationship with the Asolo Repertory Theatre. The program is now housed in the Florida State University Center for the Performing Arts. It is a multi-theater complex, located farther east on the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art property. New College of Florida is a public liberal arts college in Sarasota, Florida. The college is a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges. In 2023, the state government of Florida overhauled its board of trustees in an attempt to transform the school into a "beacon of conservative values." Since then, nearly 40% of faculty have resigned. New College has the smallest student population in the State University System of Florida with 669 students (2022).
Ringling College of Art and Design is a private art and design school in Sarasota, Florida. It was founded by Ludd M. Spivey as an art school in 1931 as a remote branch of Southern College but separated by 1933.
State College of Florida, Manatee–Sarasota (SCF) is a public college with campuses in the Manatee and Sarasota counties of Florida. Part of the Florida College System, it is designated a "state college" because it offers a greater number of bachelor's degrees than community colleges. SCF is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Founded in 1957 as Manatee Junior College, it was known as Manatee Community College from 1985 to 2009.

The Sarasota metropolitan area is a metropolitan area located in Southwest Florida. The metropolitan area is defined by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) as the North Port–Bradenton–Sarasota Metropolitan Statistical Area, a metropolitan statistical area (MSA) consisting of Manatee County and Sarasota County. The principal cities listed by the OMB for the MSA are North Port, Bradenton, Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch, and Venice. At the 2020 census, the MSA had a population of 833,716. The Census Bureau estimates that its population was 891,411 in 2022.
Richard G. Fallon was Dean Emeritus of The School of Theatre at Florida State University. He came to Tallahassee in 1956 and has been active in theatre community ever since. Fallon was a Robert O. Lawton Distinguished Professor, a recipient of the Florida Governor's Award for the Arts, the Suzanne M. Davis Award for service to professional theatre, and was one of ten national recipients of the Harbison Prize for gifted teaching. He was elected to the College of Fellows of American Theatre, the National Theatre Conference, and is one of the founders of the University Resident Theatre Association.
The Master Craftsman Studio describes the physical facility of the Florida State University Master Craftsman Program. The program is part of the university's curriculum. The program was the first of its kind in the United States. It entails faculty, staff, and students that create, design, and fabricate sculptures, statues, and other art forms which are placed permanently on the campus of Florida State University.
The Florida State University College of Medicine, located in Tallahassee, Florida, is one of sixteen colleges composing the Florida State University. The college, created in 2000, is an accredited medical school, offering the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree for physicians. The College of Medicine also offers a Ph.D. degree and a Physician Assistant program.
The Asolo Repertory Theatre or Asolo Rep is a professional theater in Sarasota, Florida. It is the largest Equity theatre in Florida, and the largest Repertory theatre in the Southeastern United States. Asolo Rep is a resident regional theatre company which also invites in guest artists. It works in conjunction with Florida State University's MFA Acting program, the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training. It is currently housed in the Florida State University Center for the Performing Arts, which is a multi-theater complex, located on the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art property. The 2008–2009 season marked Asolo Rep's 50th anniversary.

The program is operated by Florida State University in conjunction with the Asolo Repertory Theatre.
The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art is the official state art museum of Florida, located in Sarasota, Florida. It was established in 1927 as the legacy of Mable Burton Ringling and John Ringling for the people of Florida. Florida State University assumed governance of the museum in 2000.
Ray L. Burggraf is an artist, color theorist, and Emeritus Professor of Fine Arts at Florida State University. According to Roald Nasgaard, Burggraf's paintings exhibit "visual excitation...pulsating patterns, vibrating after-images, weird illusionistic spaces, multifocal opticality, executed with knife-edge precision...crisp and elegant and radiant with light." From a historical perspective, Burggraf's work is "nature evocative...reach[ing] back to the modernist landscape tradition of the Impressionists and of Neo-impressionists like Seurat, who, in the late-nineteenth century immersed themselves in the color theories of Chevreul and Rood".

Sally Elaine McRorie is an American psychologist and painter. She is the provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at Florida State University and president of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
The FSU President's House, is a 13,068 ft² Greek Revival-style building located at 1000 West Tennessee Street, across from the main campus. Visitors to Tallahassee might think it had always been there, which was the intention, but it was completed in 2007. The mansion has served as the Florida State University president's residence since that year and is used to host students, faculty, staff, scholars and alumni; government officials and legislators; national and foreign dignitaries; as well as corporate representatives, friends and constituents.
