Lietuvos ryto TV is a Lithuanian entertainment channel founded on 12 October 2008. [1] In 2022, all programs started to be broadcasting in the Lithuanian language, considering the fact that half of the Russian programs that were shown were only with subtitles or the other was dubbed. All Turkish and Ukrainian programs are dubbed. Famous Lithuanian journalist Edmundas Jakilaitis was the first channel manager. In January 2013, he was replaced by Linas Ryškus. [1] 45% of all showing programs are taken from foreign countries, like Russia, Turkey and Ukraine. [1]

Lietuvos Rytas TV replaced Lithuanian Penktas kanalas ("Channel 5", Originally Vilnius TV) which was established in 2004.

Lietuvos Rytas TV was part of Lietuvos rytas Media Group. In 2019, UAB Singing Fish acquired the channel. [2]

Basketball Club Neptūnas, commonly known as Neptūnas or Neptūnas Klaipėda, is a Lithuanian professional basketball club based in Klaipėda, Lithuania. The club participates in the Lithuanian Basketball League. It was founded in 1962 under the name BC Maistas and in 1964, BC Maistas's name was changed to BC Neptūnas. The club carries the name of the Roman sea god Neptune. Neptūnas participated in the 2014–15 EuroLeague season and is only the third Lithuanian club to participate in the premier European basketball league, after Žalgiris and Rytas.

Be2gether or B2G was the largest annual music and arts festival in Baltic countries. Established in 2007, it took place in Norviliškės, Lithuania, just a few meters from the border with Belarus. In 2007, attendance was estimated at around 7,000–8,000 people, with an increase to 12,000 in 2008.

Before the independence from the Soviet Union (USSR) in 1990, Lithuanian print media sector served mainly as a propaganda instrument of the Communist Party of Lithuania (LKP). Alternative and uncontrolled press began to appear in the country starting from 1988, when the Initiative Group of the Reform Movement of Lithuania Sąjūdis was established. After the declaration of independence the government stopped interfering in the media outlets which for the most part were first privatised to their journalists and employees and later to local businessman and companies. Currently media ownership in Lithuania is concentrated among a small number of domestic and foreign companies.
