This is a list of administrators and governors of Ogun State, Nigeria. Ogun State was formed on 3 February 1976 [1] when Western State divided into Ogun, Ondo, and Oyo states.

Jubril Martins-KuyeListen was a Nigerian politician. After studying in Nigeria and the United States he qualified as an accountant before entering politics. Martins-Kuye was originally a member of the Social Democratic Party and served as a senator. He joined the United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) towards the end of the Sani Abacha regime. After unsuccessfully standing as the People's Democratic Party candidate for governor of Ogun State in 1999 he was appointed minister of state for finance by President Olusegun Obasanjo, a position he held until 2003. In 2010 he became minister of commerce and industry in the cabinet of Acting President Goodluck Jonathan, holding office until 2011.

Major General Saidu Ayodele BalogunListen, is a retired Nigerian general who appointed the first Governor of Ogun State, Nigeria after it was formed from part of the old Western State in March 1976, holding office until July 1978 during the military regime of General Olusegun Obasanjo.

Ibikunle Amosun is a Nigerian politician, former governor of Ogun State and two-term senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He first served as an elected senator for Ogun Central district of Ogun State, Nigeria from June 2003 to June 2007, and reelected in 2019. After an unsuccessful bid for governor of Ogun State in April 2007, he was elected governor of the state on the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) platform in 2011. He contested again for a second term as governor under the All Progressives Congress and after winning the election, was sworn into office on 29 May 2015.

The Ogun State Executive Council is the highest formal governmental body that plays important roles in the Government of Ogun State headed by the Governor of Ogun State. It consists of the Deputy Governor, Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff, Commissioners who preside over ministerial departments, and the Governor's special aides.

Adedapo Oluseun Abiodun is a Nigerian businessman and politician, who has served as Governor of Ogun State since 2019. He won the 2019 general elections under the platform of the All Progressive Congress.

Tolulope Odebiyi is a Nigerian politician from Ogun state, who was elected to the Ogun West senatorial seat in 2019. He previously served as the Chief of staff to Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state.

The Government of Ogun State consists of elected representatives and appointed officials responsible for the government of Ogun State, Nigeria. Ogun State has a population of about 2 million people, and is one of the 36 states that make up the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The state government is composed of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches, whose powers are vested by the Constitution in the Governor, the House of Assembly, and the High Court. The judiciary operates independently of the executive and the legislature. At the local level, elected officials are in charge of local government areas.

The 2015 Ogun State gubernatorial election occurred on 11 April 2015. Incumbent Governor APC's Ibikunle Amosun won election for a second term, defeating PDP's Adegboyega Isiaka and several minor party candidates. Amosun received 60.38% of the vote.

The 2011 Ogun State gubernatorial election was the 7th gubernatorial election of Ogun State. Held on April 26, 2011, the Action Congress of Nigeria nominee Ibikunle Amosun won the election, defeating Tunji Olurin of the People's Democratic Party.

The 1999 Ogun State gubernatorial election occurred in Nigeria on January 9, 1999. The AD nominee Olusegun Osoba won the election defeating the PDP candidate.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2023 Ogun State gubernatorial election</span> 2023 gubernatorial election in Ogun State, Nigeria

The 2023 Ogun State gubernatorial election took place on 18 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Ogun State, concurrent with elections to the Ogun State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—was held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent APC Governor Dapo Abiodun was eligible to run for re-election.
