The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (Polish : Ministerstwo Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego) is a ministry within Polish government led by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage responsible for national heritage preservation and Polish culture promotion. Ministry oversees state or partially state cultural institutions and implements the law regarding art and cultural property. Ministry headquarters are located at Potocki Palace, 15 Krakowskie Przedmieście Street in Warsaw. [3] Incumbent minister has been Hanna Wróblewska member of the Cabinet) since May 2024
It was formed on 31 October 2005, from transformation of Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Poland. The ministry can trace its history back to 1918 when the Ministry of Art and Culture was established. It was suppressed in 1922 due to rationalization of public expense and structural reform of the government. [4] It was reestablished within the temporary communist government in 1944 and has existed continuously henceforth until the merger with the Ministry of Sport in 2021.
The Potocki Palace is a large baroque palace in Warsaw, located at Krakowskie Przedmieście 15, directly opposite the Presidential Palace. It was originally built for the Denhoff family and in the late 18th century became the property of the Potocki family.

Jan Maletka (1921-1942) was a Polish railway worker. On 20 August 1942 he was murdered by the Germans for providing water to Jews being transported to the Treblinka concentration camp. On 26 November 2021 a plaque commemorating him has been revealed in the village of Treblinka, which has sparked a controversy.

The Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Warsaw was an independent arts organization founded in Warsaw, then Kingdom of Poland, in 1860. Its main goal was to support and popularize Polish art through active acquisitions, providing help for young artists through scholarships, as well as publishing and organizing exhibitions and art competitions, among other activities. The society remained active until the Nazi invasion of Poland in 1939 and was officially shut down in 1942.The former building of the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Małachowski Square in Warsaw currently houses the Zacheta National Gallery of Art, a major Central and Eastern European museum dedicated to modern and contemporary art.
Central Military Library (CBW) is the main library of Poland Ministry of National Defense located in Warsaw. In 2009, she was awarded the Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Culture.
On December 19, 2023, Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in Poland, dismissed the then-current state media directors and their supervisory boards, most notably those of public broadcaster Telewizja Polska (TVP), appointing new ones in their place. The move was met with criticism and accusations of illegality by the dismissed management and the opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party, causing a parliamentary intervention in the TVP headquarters.
