Mirabilandia is a 210-acre theme park, located in Savio, Italy, a frazione of Ravenna, which is located in Emilia-Romagna. With a total area of 850,000 square metres, it is the biggest park in Italy. [1]
It has an area of 55 hectares, with an additional waterpark area of 12 hectares, called Mirabeach. The most notable attractions are the Katun inverted roller coaster and the iSpeed launched coaster. It has the world's tallest watercoaster, the "Divertical" with a height of 60 m. It also has the only spike dueling coaster in the world: Desmo Race.
It houses the 92-metre tall Eurowheel, Europe's second tallest Ferris wheel.

The park opened its doors on 4 July 1992, located next to the pine grove in Classe, on the Adriatica state road, among the first shareholders there was Silvio Berlusconi.
Among its opening-day attractions was Sierra Tonante, a wooden roller coaster, and Rio Bravo, a water itinerary among the rapids aboard special rafts where still today it is possible to have a great time.
But in 1996 the park was in danger of bankruptcy, so the next year it's sold to the Loeffelhardt-Casoli group (joint venture between the company that owns Phantasialand and the Italian Casoli)
In 1997, the 60-metre-tall Torri Gemelle (today Oil Towers) and the Scuola di Polizia stunt show were added. New scenery and theming depicting exotic and fantastic places was also added. Most prominently, the entrance plaza rethemed and renamed Pirate Bay. The restaurants had a similar re-theming (like the "Locanda del Faro").
In 1998, Pakal (today Gold Digger), a wild mouse roller coaster, was added.
In 1999, the 92-metre-tall Eurowheel, the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe at the time, Niagara (today El Dorado Falls), and the Mirabilandia Express opened.
In 2000 has opened Katun, the longest inverted roller coaster in Europe, themed with the city of Sian Ka'an that is a big Mayan zone around the coaster.
In 2003, Mirabilandia Beach (today Mirabeach), a water park, was added. It was expanded in 2004.
Following the success, in 2006, the Spanish company Parques Reunidos, one of the leading companies in the amusement parks sector, became interested in the park and bought it.
In the following years, Leprotto Express, Raratonga, and Reset, the first interactive dark ride in Italy, were added. Around Reset there is a zone which represents a post-apocalyptic New York.
In 2009, iSpeed, a launched roller coaster, opened, replacing Sierra Tonante (which had closed in 2007) and becoming the tallest and fastest roller coaster in Italy, featuring an acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 2.2 seconds.
In 2011 Master Thai, the first dueling roller coaster in Italy was added.
In 2012, Divertical, the tallest water coaster in the world was inaugurated.
In 2014, the children's area Dinoland opened with attractions including Reptilium, Raptotana, Rexplorer, Bicisauro, Brontocars, and Monosauro.
In 2015 the stunt show got a partnership with Hot Wheels and a 18 metres in height mobile loop, the tallest loop in the world made by a car.
In 2016, the Far West Valley area opened its doors, featuring the largest Horror House in Europe, Legends of Dead Town.
In 2018, Mirabeach completed a 20,000-square-metre expansion.
In 2019, the motorcycle-themed, 35,000-square-metre Ducati World area opened, featuring the world's first spike dueling roller coaster in the world, Desmo Race. [2]
In 2022 the horror house of The Walking Dead opens to replace Legends of Dead Town, moreover the park enters into a collaboration with Nickelodeon, which introduces the most popular cartoon mascots in the park with a meet & greet and a new live show.

In 2007, a man was struck by the leg of a female rider on the Katun roller coaster and killed. The rider was injured. The man was in a restricted area when he was hit, but the ride was closed for investigation.[ citation needed ]
Kings Island is a 364-acre (147 ha) amusement park located 24 miles (39 km) northeast of Cincinnati in Mason, Ohio, United States. Owned and operated by Cedar Fair, the park was built by Taft Broadcasting and opened in 1972. It was part of a larger effort to move and expand Coney Island, a popular resort destination along the banks of the Ohio River that was prone to frequent flooding. After more than $300 million in capital investments over the years, the park has grown to feature over a hundred attractions including fourteen roller coasters and a 33-acre (13 ha) water park.
PortAventura World is an entertainment resort in Salou and Vila-seca, Tarragona, on the Costa Daurada in Catalonia, Spain. It was built around the PortAventura Park theme park, which attracts around 3.5 million visitors per year, making it the most visited theme park in Spain and the sixth most visited theme park in Europe. In 2017, the resort added a new them park, Ferrari Land, which includes PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park, six hotels, a convention center, and an RV park. Reus Airport lies within 15 minutes driving distance and Barcelona Airport within one hour. The train station Salou-Port Aventura is 750m from the resort entrance and features line R17 trains to Barcelona and Tarragona.
Canada's Wonderland, formerly known as Paramount Canada's Wonderland, is a 134-hectare (330-acre) amusement park located in Vaughan, Ontario, a municipality within the Greater Toronto Area. Opened in 1981 by the Taft Broadcasting Company and the Great-West Life Assurance Company, it was the first major theme park in Canada and remains the country's largest. Cedar Fair purchased the park from Paramount Parks in 2006, and they have owned and operated the park since then. In 2019, it was the most-visited seasonal amusement park in North America with an estimated 3.9 million guests. The park still retains this record, with an estimated 3.8 million guests in 2022 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thorpe Park, formerly also known as Thorpe Park Resort, is a theme park located in the village of Thorpe between the towns of Chertsey and Staines-upon-Thames in Surrey, England, 20 miles (32 km) southwest of Central London. It is operated by Merlin Entertainments and includes rides, themed cabins, live events and as of Spring 2024, Hyperia, the United Kingdom's tallest and fastest rollercoaster. In 2019 Thorpe Park was the UK's third most visited theme park, behind Alton Towers and Legoland Windsor. However, in 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the park only had a 125-day operation season, along with limited capacity, leading to massively reduced visitor numbers.
Heide Park Resort, commonly known as Heide Park, is a theme park in Soltau, Lower Saxony, Germany. With an overall area of over 850,000 m2, it is the largest amusement park in Northern Germany and among the largest in the country. Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, also known as "Expedition Everest", is a steel roller coaster built by Vekoma at Disney's Animal Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The ride is themed around the Yeti protecting the Forbidden Mountain next to Mount Everest. Fuji-Q Highland is an amusement park in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi, Japan, owned and operated by the namesake Fuji Kyuko Co. it was opened on 2 March 1968.
Iron Gwazi is a steel-track hybrid roller coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, a theme park in Tampa, Florida, United States. Development of the original Gwazi began in July 1998, when Busch Gardens announced that it would build a wooden roller coaster on land formerly occupied by the Anheuser-Busch brewery. Great Coasters International (GCI) built Gwazi, a wooden dueling roller coaster with two separate tracks. The ride was named after a fabled creature with a tiger's head and a lion's body. Trains riding on both tracks, respectively named Lion and Tiger, reached a height of 105.4 feet (32.1 m) and a maximum speed of 51 mph (82 km/h).
The Tower of Terror II was a steel shuttle roller coaster located at the Dreamworld amusement park on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. When the Tower of Terror opened on 23 January 1997, it was the first roller coaster in the world to reach 100 miles per hour (160 km/h), making it the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world of its time. The ride was situated on the Dreamworld Tower, which also houses The Giant Drop free fall ride. The ride was originally known as the Tower of Terror until it was modified and relaunched in September 2010 as Tower of Terror II.

At 1,672 metres (5,486 ft) long, 93.3 metres (306 ft) tall, and with a top speed of 148 kilometres per hour (92 mph), Leviathan is the tallest and fastest roller coaster in Canada, taking the records previously held by Behemoth on the opposite side of the park. As of July 2020, Leviathan is ranked as the seventh-tallest roller coaster in the world, the sixth tallest coaster by drop height, and the fourth-tallest traditional lift-style coaster in the world.
Shambhala: Expedición al Himalaya is a steel hypercoaster roller coaster located at PortAventura Park in Salou and Vilaseca, Spain. Manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard, it was the tallest and fastest coaster in Europe at the time of its opening. The height and speed records were beaten in April 2017 by Red Force, which was also opened in PortAventura World in its new theme park Ferrari Land. Among coasters with a lift hill, the height and speed records were beaten in July 2018, when Hyperion opened at Energylandia in Poland. Shambhala is named and themed after the inaccessible land in the Himalayas: Shambhala. The coaster was announced on 24 October 2011, and opened to the public on 12 May 2012.

Desmo Race is a dueling roller coaster at Mirabilandia in Ravenna, Italy. The pair of coasters opened as a part of the park's new €25,000,000 Ducati World in July 2019.
Dragon Challenge, formerly named Dueling Dragons (1999–2010), was a pair of intertwined inverted roller coasters in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter area of Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Florida, United States. Designed by Bolliger & Mabillard of Switzerland, the ride was a dueling roller coaster featuring two tracks – one side was called Chinese Fireball and the other Hungarian Horntail – that were themed as two chasing dragons. Its layout involved two trains sharing adjacent lift hills, with each traversing unique courses. Trains on the Chinese Fireball track reached a maximum speed of 60 mph (97 km/h), while trains on the Hungarian Horntail reached 55 mph (89 km/h). Both tracks featured five inversions and an identical ride duration of 2 minutes and 25 seconds.
