Mount Sion (Irish: Cnoc Sion) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Waterford City, County Waterford, Ireland. It was founded by teachers in the school of the same name. Although technically separate from the school, the club still maintains a close relationship with the school, sharing the same sports facilities in the city.[citation needed]
The club is mainly concerned with the game of hurling and is the most successful in Waterford with 35 county title wins, although they did win 5 county football titles back in the 1950s. They have also won 2 Munster Senior Hurling titles, in 1981 with victory over Limerick club South Liberties (3-9 to 1–4) and in 2002 beating Sixmilebridge of Clare (0-12 to 0–10). The club has produced a number of All Star winning players for Waterford and also two Inter-county hurlers of the year, Tony Browne in 1998 and Austin Gleeson in 2016. John Keane was also selected on the hurling team of the millennium. Frankie Walsh was the last Waterford man to lift the Liam McCarthy cup in 1959.
Mount Sion won titles in 1994, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006 with players such a such Ken McGrath, Tony Browne, Brian Greene, Eoin Daniels, Eoin Kelly, and Eoin McGrath.[citation needed] Since 2006, Mount Sion have had something of a barren period going without a county final win and, while they reached the final in 2014, Ballygunner came out on top on a score line of 2–16 to 0–9.[citation needed]

Ken McGrath is an Irish hurler and hurling selector who played as a centre-back for the Waterford senior team. He joined the team in 1996 and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement in 2011.
Edward J. Goulding, known as Éamonn Goulding, was an Irish hurler and Gaelic footballer. At club he level he played with Glen Rovers and St. Nicholas' and was a member of the Cork senior teams as a dual player.

The Nire—Fourmilewater GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Ballymacarbry, County Waterford in Ireland. The Nire and Fourmilewater are two separate clubs, with separate committees pulling from the same pool of players. The Nire is the Gaelic football club in the area and Fourmilewater the hurling club. Both teams play in the Mill Field, Ballymacarbry. The Nire is a half parish with Touraneena, while Fourmilewater is a half parish with Newcastle, County Tipperary. The Nire play in yellow and blue, while Fourmilewater play in blue and white. The related Ballymacarby Ladies' Gaelic football club has won 10 All-Ireland Ladies' Club Football Championship titles.
Martin Óg Morrissey is an Irish former hurler, Gaelic footballer and selector. At club level he played as a dual player with Mount Sion, and also lined out at inter-county level with various Waterford teams.

Austin Gleeson is an Irish hurler who plays for Waterford Senior Championship club Mount Sion and at inter-county level with the Waterford senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a centre-forward but can also be deployed as a centre-back. He is the younger brother of Jessica Gleeson, the Republic of Ireland women's national team soccer player.
Larry Fanning was an Irish hurler who played as a full-back for the Waterford senior team.
Richard "Dickie" Roche was an Irish hurler who played as a goalkeeper for the Waterford senior team.
