Petros Kyprianou (born Limassol, Cyprus) is the current Director of Track & Field and Cross Country at the University of Illinois and the former head coach of the University of Georgia Bulldogs men's and women's track and field teams (jumps, decathlon and heptathlon). [1] Kyprianou was voted the United States Track & Field/CC Coaches Association 2018 Indoor & Outdoor National Coach of the Year following two historic first NCAA team titles for the University of Georgia track and field (women indoor & men outdoor). Additionally, Kyprianou was the 2017 Outdoor National Women's Coach of the year following a very close NCAA runner up finish to Oregon (1.8 points). The Bulldogs have amassed 12 top 4 NCAA finishes the last five seasons. [2]

Kyprianou produced and coached several Olympians, World Championships medalists, NCAA & USA National champions, NCAA All Americans and American record holders, including:


Kyprianou has served as an Olympic coach for four different Olympic national teams in the last three Olympic Games.[ citation needed ]

The Indiana State Sycamores are the NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic teams of Indiana State University. Since the 1977–78 academic year, Indiana State has been a member of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). The Georgia Bulldogs women's track and field team represents University of Georgia in NCAA Division I women's indoor and outdoor track and field.

The South Florida Bulls track and field program represents the University of South Florida in the sport of track and field. The program consists of separate men's and women's teams and competes in the American Athletic Conference within NCAA Division I. Both of the Bulls track and field teams are coached by Abigi Id-Deen, who was named coach in August 2023. Distance events are coached by Bulls cross country coach Tony Nicolosi, and the cross country and track and field programs are directed by Erik Jenkins, who was formerly the head coach of the teams. The teams practice and host outdoor meets at the USF Track and Field Stadium. While the university sponsors indoor teams as well, the university does not have an indoor track facility suitable to host meets. There is an indoor track in the Campus Recreation Center which the teams use for practice, but it has no space for indoor field events or spectators.

Carla Williams is the athletic director of the Virginia Cavaliers. She is the first African American woman in the Power Five conferences to hold this position.

Garrett Scantling is an American decathlete. He finished fourth at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo in the decathlon, after winning the US Olympic trials in Eugene, Oregon.

Jasmine Moore is an American athlete. In 2022, she became the first American woman to qualify for the World Athletics Championships in both the long jump and the triple jump.
