Reality Bites Back is a reality show hosted by Michael Ian Black that parodies various reality show formats. It premiered July 17, 2008, on Comedy Central. The name is derived from the 1994 film Reality Bites .

Premise

Ten comedians compete in a variety of contests that spoof popular reality shows. Each week one contestant is eliminated. The winner is then declared the "Lord of All Reality" and receives a $50,000 prize. [1] The show is stated to be about 50% sketch comedy and 50% actual reality. [2]

The first season premiered on January 31, 2007, following the season finale of Top Chef. Todd Oldham was the host, while famed potter and interior designer Jonathan Adler was lead judge. Kelly Wearstler and Margaret Russell also served as judges. Matt Lorenz was declared the winner. Although the first season received poor ratings, Bravo decided to air a second season starting September 3, 2008, with India Hicks as host and Oldham serving in the role of mentor, similar to Tim Gunn on Project Runway. The fourth season of Australia's Next Top Model premiered on 22 April 2008 on Fox8. Auditions were held during October and November 2007 across Australia.
