Oakland Arena is an indoor arena located in Oakland, California, United States. From its opening in 1966 until 1996, it was known as the Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum Arena. After a major renovation completed in 1997, the arena was renamed The Arena in Oakland until 2005 and Oracle Arena from 2006 to 2019. Franklin Gore is an American football running back for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the University of Miami, and was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft, playing with them from 2005 to 2014. The 2020 NFL Draft was the 85th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible players for the 2020 NFL season. The draft was held from April 23–25 via videoconferencing. The first round was held on April 23, followed by the second and third rounds on April 24. The draft concluded with rounds 4–7 on April 25. The NFL originally planned to hold the event live in Paradise, Nevada, before all public events related to it were canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, all team selections took place virtually, with league commissioner Roger Goodell broadcasting picks from his home.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, former passengers of Grand Princess who had tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 were being linked to cruises they had taken on the ship while it travelled between California, Mexico, and Hawaii. After the first confirmed death on 2020.03.04, Grand Princess was rerouted to the San Francisco Bay Area, where it was anchored offshore while test kits were airlifted to the ship. Preliminary testing found 21 positive cases, and the ship later docked in Oakland on 2020.03.09, with over 3000 people entering quarantine.
