Sherry Kramer is an American playwright, [1] [2] born in Springfield, Missouri. [3] Kramer attended Wellesley College, as an undergraduate, and earned an MFA Fiction from the Iowa Writers Workshop and an MFA Playwriting from the Iowa Playwrights Workshop at the University of Iowa. [4] She teaches playwriting at Bennington College.

Angelo Parra is an American playwright. He was born in Manhattan and grew up in the Bronx, New York City. Boston Playwrights' Theatre (BPT) is a small professional theatre in Boston, Massachusetts and the home of Boston University's MFA Playwriting Program. As a venue, BPT rents its space for the rehearsal, reading, and production of new plays.

Eduardo Oscar Machado is a Cuban playwright living in the United States. Notable plays by Machado include Broken Eggs, Havana is Waiting and The Cook. Many of his plays are autobiographical or deal with Cuba in some way. Machado teaches playwriting at New York University. He has served as the artistic director of the INTAR Theatre in New York City since 2004. He is openly gay.

Jack Gelber was an American playwright best known for his 1959 drama The Connection, depicting the life of drug-addicted jazz musicians. The first great success of the Living Theatre, the play was translated into five languages and produced in ten nations. Gelber continued to work and write in New York, where he also taught writing, directing and drama as a professor, chiefly at Brooklyn College, City University of New York, where he created the MFA program in playwriting. In 1999 he received the Edward Albee Last Frontier Playwright Award in recognition of his lifetime of achievements in theatre.
