Tammy Tibbetts (born c. 1985), is co-founder and CEO of the non-profit organization She's the First.

Raised in South Brunswick, New Jersey, [1] Tibetts graduated from South Brunswick High School in 2003 before attending The College of New Jersey. [2]

She's the First

Tibbetts co-founded the non-profit She's the First in 2009. She's the First fights gender inequality through education by supporting girls who are the first in their family to graduate high school and by training students everywhere to be global citizens.

She's the First has more than 225 chapters in high schools and colleges across the US and in 10 countries.

Recognition

Marie Claire considered Tibbetts one of the "20 Women Who Are Changing Your World" in 2014. [3]

Tibbetts was also one of Glamour's 20 Young Women Who Are Already Changing the World in 2011. [4]

Faye Glenn Abdellah

Faye Glenn Abdellah was an American pioneer in nursing research. Abdellah was the first nurse and woman to serve as the Deputy Surgeon General of the United States. Preceding her appointment, she served in active duty during the Korean War, where she earned a distinguished ranking equivalent to a Navy Rear Admiral, making her the highest ranked woman and nurse in the Federal Nursing Services at the time. In addition to these achievements, Abdellah led the formation of the National Institute of Nursing Research at the NIH, and was the founder and first dean of the Graduate School of Nursing at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS). A few of Abdellah's more passionate interests in public health included the importance of long-term care planning for elderly patients; the need to strengthen nursing school infrastructure; and the necessity of patient-centered approaches in nursing. In 2000 Abdellah was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame. During her acceptance speech, Abdellah made the following quote: "We cannot wait for the world to change. .. Those of us with intelligence, purpose, and vision must take the lead and change the world. .. I promise never to rest until my work has been completed!”

Shanti Bhavan

The Shanti Bhavan Children's Project is a U.S. 501(c)(3) and India 80-G non-profit organisation based in Bangalore, India, that operates a pre-K-12 residential school in Baliganapalli, Tamil Nadu. The school annually enrolls 12 boys and 12 girls for its incoming pre-school class. Thereafter, students stay at the school year-round except for summer and winter breaks. Students attend Shanti Bhavan free of charge and are provided with nutritional meals, clothes, shelter, education, healthcare and emotional and mental support. Shanti Bhavan is accredited by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), one of India’s most robust academic curriculums, and administers the ICSE and ISC exams during students' 10th and 12th grades. After students' 12th grade, Shanti Bhavan also pays for their college education.

Ameera bint Aidan bin Nayef Al-Taweel Al-Otaibi is a Saudi Arabian philanthropist and former princess. Born into a non-royal cadet branch of the Saud dynasty, Ameera was married to her distant cousin Prince Al Waleed bin Talal Al Saud, and assumed the role of Vice Chairperson of Al-Waleed bin Talal Foundation. Gail Laughlin

Abbie "Gail" Hill Laughlin was an American lawyer, suffragist, an expert for the United States Industrial commission, and a member of the Maine State Senate. She was the first woman from Maine to practice law. She was the National Vice Chairman of the women’s suffrage movement and the President of the National Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs. She was posthumously inducted into the Maine Women's Hall of Fame in 1991.

Katie Meyler American activist

Katie Ann Meyler is an American activist who is the founder of the More Than Me Foundation, an organization that works to educate young women in Liberia in the midst of the West African Ebola virus epidemic. She has been recognized as one of the Ebola fighters chosen as the 2014 Time Person of the Year and won at the 2015 Shorty Awards for Best Activist. However, she has received criticism for failing to protect the young women in her care from sexual abuse by a staff member, an accusation which was extensively researched and reported on in 2018 by Time Magazine and ProPublica. Meyler resigned from the organization as a result of the investigation.
