Terra Kulture is an arts and culture center in Lagos, Nigeria with an attached restaurant. [1] [2]
Nigerian lawyer Bolanle Austen-Peters founded Terra Kulture in 2003. [3]
The center is a restaurant, serving Nigerian cuisine, bookstore and cultural venue, [4] hosting exhibitions of Nigerian art, [5] theater, [6] and book readings as well as language classes in the three main Nigerian languages, Hausa, Ibo and Yoruba. [1]
Annual events at Terra Kulture includes an art auction [7] and the Taruwa festival of Performing arts. [8] [9]
Terra Kulture launched its 450-seater theatre called Terra Kulture Arena, situated at its headquarters Tiamiyu Savage Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. [10]
Terra Kulture is also currently in partnership with Mastercard Foundation to empower 65,000 Young Nigerians, [11] an initiative that would form a significant part of the Terra Academy For The Arts (TAFTA) Program. [12]
In October 2022, Terra Kulture received a donation from global streaming platform Netflix, which the company plans to industry and community focused areas of engagement like academic training, bookstore and theatre. [13]
Death and the King's Horseman is a play by Wole Soyinka based on a real incident that took place in Nigeria during the colonial era: the horseman of a Yoruba King was prevented from committing ritual suicide by the colonial authorities. In addition to the intervention of the colonial authorities, Soyinka calls the horseman's own conviction toward suicide into question, posing a problem that throws off the community's balance.

The Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) is an annual film festival that takes place in Nigeria. It was founded in 2010 with its Inaugural edition in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. AFRIFF was founded by Chioma Ude a passionate film buff and entrepreneur, The event normally spans through a week and it includes award shows and film training classes. Keith Shiri, the founder/director of Africa at the Pictures is the artistic director of the festival. AFRIFF gives out honors in categories such Feature, Documentary, Short, Animation, and Students Short, as well as awards and prizes for Directing, Acting, and Screenplay. There are additional special awards for Audience Choice and an Outstanding Film Jury Award.
Osas Ighodaro ; born October 26th is a Nigerian American actress, producer, host and humanitarian. She won the Miss Black USA Pageant in 2010, and founded the Joyful Joy Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises funds to fight malaria. Osas emerged as the highest-grossing Nollywood actress of 2018, and was awarded Best Actress in a Drama consecutively at the 2022 and 2023 AMVCA for her roles in Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story and Man of God, respectively.
Bolanle Austen-Peters, is a lawyer, a multiple award-winning movie director/producer, theater director/producer and cultural entrepreneur. She is the founder and artistic director of BAP Productions and the arts and culture center Terra Kulture in Lagos. She has been described by the CNN as the "woman pioneering theater in Nigeria", named one of the most influential women in Africa by Forbes Afrique and been recognised with several awards for her contribution to the arts.
