William Francis Marsh (January 13,1916 - March 20,1995) served in the California State Assembly for the 42nd district from 1953 to 1959. [1] During World War II he served in the United States Marine Corps. [2]

Anderson Marsh State Historic Park is a California State Historic Park and nature reserve preserving a tule marsh,archaeological sites of the Pomo people,and historic ranch structures. It is located in Lake County,California,United States. Anderson Marsh is located at the head of Cache Creek on the southeast corner of Clear Lake,the largest natural lake completely within the borders of California. Fitzgerald Marine Reserve is a marine reserve in California on the Pacific Ocean,located just north of Pillar Point Harbor and Mavericks in the San Mateo County community of Moss Beach. Moss Beach is located approximately 20 miles (32 km) south of San Francisco and 50 miles (80 km) north of Santa Cruz. The reserve is a 32-acre (0.13 km2) holding which extends from Montara light station at the north to Pillar Point on the south. The reserve consists of a three-mile stretch of beach,tidepool habitat,marsh,erosive bluffs,clifftop trail and cypress and eucalyptus forests. The property is owned by the State of California and managed by San Mateo County as a county park and nature preserve. The reserve is administratively assigned to be part of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Adjacent to and possibly within the reserve is an endangered species of butterfly,the San Bruno elfin butterfly.

He became one of the wealthiest ranchers in California,and was among the highly influential men who worked to gain United States statehood after Mexico ceded this area following its defeat in the Mexican-American War.

The William T. Davis Wildlife Refuge (WTDWR) is an 814-acre (3.29 km2) wildlife refuge straddling the New Springville and Travis sections of Staten Island. The park was named in honor of Staten Island native William T. Davis,a renowned naturalist and entomologist who along with the Audubon Society started the refuge with an original acquisition of 52 acres (210,000 m2). Additional acreage was acquired in increments and the park is today 814 acres (3.29 km2). Beginning in 2010,the adjacent 223-acre (0.90 km2) North Park section of Freshkills Park has undergone preparation to serve as an expansion of the wildlife refuge.
