The Asian Premier Futsal Championship is an Indian franchise-based futsal league conceptualised by Indian entrepreneurs under the entity of Pvt. Ltd. It was founded by Abhinandan Balasubramanian, Dinesh Raj and Nithyashree Subban, backed by business magnate Xavier Britto and his wife, philanthropist Vimala Britto.

Format

Each playing team consists of three international futsal players, one international marquee football player and one Indian futsal player. Every squad is allowed a maximum of twelve players.[ citation needed ]

Premier Futsal conducted a talent hunt programme across eight cities called Launchpad to scout and select Indian players. The programme combed through 2500 participants per city to shortlist five regional players for each team. [1] Mumbai 5's won the inaugural Premier Futsal by defeating Kochi 5's in the penalty shootout.[ citation needed ]

Brand ambassadors

Indian cricket team batsman Virat Kohli has joined the Premier Futsal as its brand ambassador. [5]

Premier Futsal attracted a lot of fans when they signed one of the best futsal players in the world, Alessandro Rosa Vieira, popularly known as Falcão. [6]

On 12 May 2016, Virat Kohli along with Falcão facilitated the launch of the nationwide talent hunt to select 40 players who will represent their respective cities in the first season of Premier Futsal. [7]

Anthem

The Premier Futsal anthem Naam Hai Futsal had its tunes set by two-time Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman with vocals also provided by Karthik, Lady Kash and Virat Kohli.

Telecast

Sony Pictures Networks India Pvt. Ltd. acquired exclusive rights to broadcast Premier Futsal. As part of the agreement, all Premier Futsal matches will be televised live on Sony SIX, Sony ESPN and Sony Aath. Matches will also be available to live stream on Sony LIV. [9]

In Indonesia, all Premier Futsal matches also broadcast live on nonton.com (2016 only) [10] and Super Soccer TV (from 2017). [11]

He was named as the Best Futsal Player in the World four times and won the FIFA Futsal World Cup Golden Shoe in 2004 and the Golden Ball twice, in 2004 and 2008. Today he is a YouTuber teaching futsal tricks and showing different things about futsal culture. His YouTube channel already has more than 1 million of subscribers

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are a franchise cricket team based in Hyderabad, India, which plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). They were one of the eight teams that competed in the 2016 Indian Premier League, their fourth outing in the competition. The team was captained by David Warner and coached by Tom Moody with Muttiah Muralitharan as bowling coach and VVS Laxman as mentor. The 2016 Indian Premier League final was a day/night Twenty20 cricket match on 29 May 2016 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, which was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore to determine the winner of the 2016 season of the Indian Premier League, an annual Twenty20 cricket tournament in India. In case play was not completed on 29 May, the Final would have resumed on 30 May, the allotted reserve day.

The 2016 Premier Futsal season is the inaugural season of Premier Futsal. The season features six teams each playing four matches before culminating to the finals. The league started on 15 July 2016 and ended on 24 July 2016.

The India cricket team toured Sri Lanka between July and September 2017 to play three Test matches, five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and a Twenty20 International match. Ahead of the Test series, the teams played a two-day warm-up match in Colombo.

Basu Shanker is an Indian performance coach. He was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach of the India national cricket team. He trained top athletes, including Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, Dipika Pallikal Karthik and Dinesh Karthik. He is the strength and conditioning coach of the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He has also starred in movies such as Moonu and Ethir Neechal.

The Sri Lanka cricket team toured India in November and December 2017. The original schedule had the tour consisting of three Tests, five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and one Twenty20 International (T20I) match starting in February 2018.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is a franchise cricket team based in Bangalore, India, which plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). They are one of the eight teams which are taking part in the 2017 Indian Premier League. They are captained by Virat Kohli and coached by Daniel Vettori. This was one of the most difficult seasons for RCB, as when it started their key players were injured and missed initial matches. Shane Watson had taken responsibility of captaining RCB.

The New Zealand cricket team toured India in October and November 2017 to play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The fixtures replaced the planned visit to India by Pakistan that was listed on the Future Tours Programme. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the full dates in September 2017. On 25 September 2017, New Zealand named the first nine players for the ODI squad. The remaining players for New Zealand's ODI and T20I squads were named on 14 October 2017.

The Afghanistan cricket team toured India in June 2018 to play a one-off Test match against the India cricket team. It was Afghanistan's first Test since they were awarded the Test status by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in June 2017. India won the match in two days by an innings and 262 runs. Afghanistan were dismissed twice in the same day, only the fourth time this has happened in Tests. For India, it was their biggest win by an innings in Tests, and they became the first Asian team to win a Test match inside two days.

The Kolkata Knight Riders-Royal Challengers Bangalore is a cricket rivalry between the IPL teams of Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the defunct Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20). It is the oldest rivalry of the IPL and is often referred to as the El Primero of the Indian Premier League. Both the teams have faced each other 32 times in IPL and 1 time in CLT20, with the Kolkata Knight Riders having more victories (19). Kolkata Knight Riders have 2 IPL titles, while Royal Challengers Bangalore have none. The rivalry became more intense when during the 2013 Indian Premier League faceoff between the two teams, Gautam Gambhir had a verbal spat with Virat Kohli when Kohli was sledged after being dismissed by Lakshmipathy Balaji. This incident increased the hype of the rivalry and is still constant despite the departure of Gambhir from the Knight Riders in 2018.
