The Hurricane Relief T20 Challenge [1] [2] [3] was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket match that took place in England on 31 May 2018. The West Indies cricket team played against a World XI team, to raise funds for stadiums damaged by Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria in September 2017. [4] The damaged stadiums were Ronald Webster Park in Anguilla and Dominica's Windsor Park. [5]

The International Cricket Council (ICC) granted the fixture international status, [6] with Lord's being selected as venue to host the match. [7] In March 2018, the ICC named Eoin Morgan as the captain of the World XI side. [8] The following month, Carlos Brathwaite was named as the captain of the West Indies team. [1] However, two days before the match, Morgan was ruled out of the fixture with a fractured finger, [9] and replaced as captain by Shahid Afridi. [10]

The West Indies won the one-off match by 72 runs. [11]

Shakib Al Hasan was originally named in the World XI team, but withdrew for personal reasons and was replaced with Sandeep Lamichhane. [17] Hardik Pandya was ruled out of the match with a viral illness, and was replaced by Mohammed Shami. [19] Eoin Morgan fractured a finger two days before the game, so had to withdraw from the squad [8] [14] and was replaced by Sam Billings. [10] Sam Curran was added to the squad at the same time, but the next day was called up by the England team for their Test against Pakistan, which started the day after the Lord's game. [20]

He has played in more than 300 Twenty20 matches for a range of sides in leagues throughout the world. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest T20 cricketers of all time. Russell scored a century in a record 40 balls in the 2018 Caribbean Premier League and took a hat-trick in the same match, becoming the second player to take a hat-trick and score a century in the same Twenty20 match.

The England cricket team toured the West Indies between January and March 2019 to play three Tests, five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The series included England's first Test match in Saint Lucia, when they played at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground. It was also England's first tour to the West Indies to play all three formats of international cricket since they visited in 2009. The ODI fixtures were part of both teams' preparation for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

2018 MCC Tri-nation series was a cricket tournament that was held on 29 July 2018 at Lord's in England. The series featured Nepal, Netherlands and Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), with the matches played as Twenty20 fixtures. The third fixture, between Nepal and the Netherlands, was given full Twenty20 International (T20I) status by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The India cricket team toured the West Indies and the United States during August and September 2019 to play two Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The tour started with two of the T20I matches played at the Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill, Florida. The Test series formed part of the inaugural 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship. The fixtures were confirmed in June 2019.
