Leigh and Atherton is a proposed constituency of the House of Commons in the UK Parliament. [1] Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, it will first be contested in the 2024 general election. [2]

The constituency will be composed of the following wards of the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan (as they existed on 1 December 2020):

The seat will cover the bulk of, and replace, the Leigh constituency, with the town of Atherton being added from Bolton West. [4]

Following a local government boundary review which came into effect in May 2023, [5] [6] the constituency will now comprise the following wards of the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan from the 2024 general election:
