The Maendeleo Chap Chap Party (MCC) is a political party in Kenya.

History

The MCC was established by Alfred Mutua, Governor of Machakos County, on 25 August 2016. [1] In the 2017 general elections the party endorsed incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta, [2] also winning four seats in the National Assembly. [3]

Wiper Democratic Movement – Kenya Kenyan political party

The Wiper Democratic Movement–Kenya (WDM-K) refers to a political party in Kenya, which originated as a result of the 2005 Kenyan constitutional referendum. It is headed by Kalonzo Musyoka, who ran for president in 2007 and served as the vice-president in the Grand Coalition of Mwai Kibaki and Raila Odinga. It is now a member of the main opposition NASA.

Baringo Central Constituency is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of six constituencies in Baringo County. The constituency was established for the 1966 elections.

Johnson Muthama

Johnson Nduya Muthama is a Kenyan businessman and politician. He has for long belonged to the Wiper Democratic Movement-Kenya party. During the 2017 general elections, he declined to defend his seat as Machakos Senator as a matter of principle protesting what he considered malpractices in the Wiper party's primaries. Muthama was the last MP of larger Kangundo Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya from 2007 to 2013. He is the immediate past Senator of Machakos County. He is among the national leaders of the Coalition for Restoration of Democracy (CORD) and the National Super Alliance (NASA) which served as Kenya's political opposition movements in the periods 2013-2017 and 2017-2022 respectively.

2013 Kenyan general election

General elections were held in Kenya on 4 March 2013. Voters elected the President, members of the National Assembly and newly formed Senate. They were the first elections held under the new constitution, which was approved in a 2010 referendum, and were also the first run by the new Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). They coincided with the 2013 Kenyan local elections.

Kivutha Kibwana is a Kenyan politician and human rights activist. He was Minister for Defence, Minister for Environment and a former member of parliament for the Makueni Constituency. He is also a former advisor to President Mwai Kibaki. Prof. Kibwana is currently serving his second term as the first Governor of Makueni County.

Alfred Nganga Mutua is a Kenyan politician who is the governor of Machakos County. Mutua was the Kenyan government spokesman before resigning in 2012 to run for the office of Machakos County Governor.

2018 Massachusetts gubernatorial election

The 2018 Massachusetts gubernatorial election took place on November 6, 2018, to elect the governor and lieutenant governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Republican Governor Charlie Baker and Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito sought reelection to a second term in office, facing Democratic challengers Jay Gonzalez and Quentin Palfrey, respectively. Candidates were selected in the primary election held on September 4, 2018.

2017 Virginia lieutenant gubernatorial election

The Virginia lieutenant gubernatorial election of 2017 was held on November 7, 2017. After the party primary elections were held, the major party nominees were Jill Vogel (Republican) and Justin Fairfax (Democrat). The incumbent Lieutenant Governor, Democrat Ralph Northam, declined to run for re-election in order to run for Governor. In the general election on November 7, 2017, Democratic nominee Justin Fairfax defeated Republican state Senator Jill Vogel to become the 41st Lieutenant Governor of Virginia.

2018 Tennessee gubernatorial election

The 2018 Tennessee gubernatorial election took place on November 6, 2018, to elect the next Governor of Tennessee. The primaries took place on August 2, with Republican Bill Lee and Democrat Karl Dean winning their respective party nominations.

2018 Maryland gubernatorial election Election for governor of Maryland, U.S.

The Maryland gubernatorial election of 2018 was held on November 6, 2018. The date included the election of the governor, lieutenant governor, and all members of the Maryland General Assembly. Incumbent governor Larry Hogan and Lieutenant Governor Boyd Rutherford, both Republicans, were reelected to a second term against Democrat Ben Jealous, the former NAACP CEO, and his running mate Susan Turnbull. Hogan thus became the second Republican governor of Maryland to win reelection, the first since 1954.

Jubilee Party Nationalist political party in Kenya

The Jubilee Party of Kenya is the ruling political party of the Republic of Kenya. The party was founded on 8 September 2016, following the merger of 11 smaller parties. During the 2017 election, the Jubilee Party secured a plurality of seats in Parliament and the party leader, Uhuru Kenyatta, was re-elected president. Since January 2019, the party's stability has been threatened by growing infighting.

Wavinya Ndeti Former Assistant Minister of Kenya

Wavinya Ndeti is a Kenyan politician who has been chairlady of the governing council of the Kenya Water Institute since 7 February 2019. She previously served as a Member of Parliament for the Kathiani Constituency in the 10th Kenyan parliament. She was the first and so far only woman to have represented the constituency since independence. She was a WDM-K candidate for Machakos Governor in 2017, having contested the seat previously in 2013 on the CCU ticket, but lost on both occasions to incumbent Alfred Mutua.

2017 Machakos County gubernatorial election

The 2017 Machakos gubernatorial election took place on 8 August 2017 to elect the governor and deputy governor of Machakos, concurrently with Machakos Senator to the Senate as other Counties and Machakos MPs to the Kenya National Assembly and Elections of County Assembly MCAs.

Governor of Machakos


The Governor of the County of Machakos is the chief executive of the Kenya Devolved Government of Machakos County. The governor is the head of the executive branch of County government of Machakos.

James Ongwae, formally known as James Elvis Omariba Ongwae, is the current Governor of Kisii County government. He is a member of the Orange Democratic Movement and was elected as the first Governor of Kisii County Government on the ODM ticket in March 2013 and is currently serving his second term since August 2017.

Jemimah Gecaga (1920–1979) was the first woman to serve in the legislature of Kenya and founder of woman's advocacy organization Maendeleo Ya Wanawake.
