Abubakar Bukola Saraki(Listen)MBBS is a Nigerian politician. He was the 13th President of the Senate of Nigeria from 2015 to 2019 and Chair of the 8th Nigeria National Assembly. He was previously the Governor of Kwara State from 2003 to 2011;and was elected to the Senate in 2011,under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),representing the Kwara Central Senatorial District,and then re-elected in the 2015 general elections under the party of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Abaribe said Buhari had made a promise while campaigning for the presidency in 2015 that Nigerians should stone him (Buhari) out of government should he fail to improve the security situation in the country. “Nigerians voted a government into power. We are going with stones to stone them now because they have failed",Abaribe's motion in the senate concluded.

General elections were held in Nigeria on 23 February 2019 to elect the President,Vice President,House of Representatives and the Senate. The elections had initially been scheduled for 16 February,but the Electoral Commission postponed the vote by a week at 03:00 on the original polling day,citing logistical challenges in getting electoral materials to polling stations on time. In some places,the vote was delayed until 24 February due to electoral violence. Polling in some areas was subsequently delayed until 9 March,when voting was carried out alongside gubernatorial and state assembly elections.

Peter Onyeluka Nwaoboshi is a Nigerian politician. He is the senator representing Delta North senatorial district in the Nigerian Senate. He is a senator of the 8th and 9th National Assembly. He was sacked shortly after being announced senator elect during the 2019 general elections by a Federal High Court in Abuja as Senator-elect on allegations that he was not validly elected by his political party. The Appeal Court in Abuja however overturned the decision on 30 May 2019. The lead judge held that the Federal High Court that nullified his election had no jurisdiction over the case.

Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe representing Kwara Central,Suleiman Sadiq Umar representing Kwara North and Yisa Oyelola Ashiru representing Kwara South all won on the platform of All Progressives Congress.
The 2015 Nigerian Senate election in Jigawa State was held on March 28,2015,to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Jigawa State. The 2015 Nigerian Senate election in Kwara State was held on March 28,2015,to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Kwara State. The 2023 Nigerian Senate elections will be held on 25 February 2023 in all 109 senatorial districts where voters will elect senators using first-past-the-post voting. The last regular senatorial elections for all districts were in 2019.
The 2023 Nigerian Senate elections in Edo State will be held on 25 February 2023,to elect the 3 federal Senators from Edo State,one from each of the state's three senatorial districts. The elections will coincide with the 2023 presidential election,as well as other elections to the Senate and elections to the House of Representatives;with state elections being held two weeks later. Primaries were held between 4 April and 9 June 2022.
