Woodstock Academy (WA), founded in 1801, is a high school located in Woodstock, Connecticut, United States. The Academy, which describes itself as an independent school, serves residents from the Connecticut towns of Brooklyn, Canterbury, Eastford, Pomfret, Union, and Woodstock. The respective towns' taxpayers pay student tuition through municipal taxes, and therefore state agencies and the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) categorize Woodstock as a public school. The school also accepts tuition-paying students from surrounding towns and states as day students, and students from around the country and the world as residential students.

The Jeremy River, named after Jeremy Adams, begins at a drainage just north of Holbrook Pond about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) east of Gilead, Connecticut and runs for 10.7 miles (17.2 km) to the Salmon River in Colchester, Connecticut. Colchester High School is a public senior high school in Colchester, Vermont, and is part of the Colchester School District in Chittenden County, Vermont. The high school serves 9th through 12th grades. Enrollment is approximately 650 to 825 students with an annual graduating class of around 170 to 230 seniors.

Connecticut's 33rd State Senate district elects one member of the Connecticut State Senate. It consists of the towns of Chester, Clinton, Colchester, Deep River, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Lyme, Old Saybrook (part), Portland, Westbrook. It is currently represented by Democrat Norman Needleman.
