Little Rock Central High School (LRCH) is an accredited comprehensive public high school in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States. The school was the site of the Little Rock Crisis in 1957 after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that segregation by race in public schools was unconstitutional three years earlier. This was during the period of heightened activism in the civil rights movement.
Matthew Jones is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver. He played college football for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Jones was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round of the 2005 NFL draft, and also played for the Cincinnati Bengals. After his football career, he was a sports radio personality.
William Layton Roaf, nicknamed "Nasty", is an American former professional football player who was an offensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons. He played college football for Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, where he earned consensus All-American honors. He was a first-round pick in the 1993 NFL draft, and played professionally for the New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs of the NFL. An 11-time Pro Bowl selection and nine-time All-Pro, he was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2012 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
Northside High School is one of two public high schools in the city of Fort Smith, Arkansas, both of which are administered by the Fort Smith School District. Within the state, the school is commonly known as Fort Smith Northside.
War Memorial Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Little Rock, Arkansas. The stadium is primarily used for American football and is the home stadium for the Catholic High School Rockets, the Parkview Magnet High School Patriots, and the secondary home stadium for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks. The USL League Two affiliated Little Rock Rangers hold both home games and youth academies at the stadium. The Arkansas Activities Association high school football championship games for all classifications are held at the stadium annually.
Mitchell Stewart Mustain is a former professional football player. He played high school football and baseball at Springdale High School in Springdale, Arkansas. Mustain played his first year of college football at the University of Arkansas in 2006 before transferring to the University of Southern California (USC) in 2007. Under NCAA transfer rules, he sat out the 2007 season and started playing for USC in the 2008 season. Mustain graduated from USC in 2010, and proceeded to have a professional football career in the AFL. He did not play baseball in college, opting instead to pursue a football career. Despite this, Mustain would briefly play in Minor League Baseball in 2012.
Carroll Wayne Harris was an American professional football player who was a linebacker for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL) from 1961 through 1972. His son, Wayne Harris, Jr., coaches football and also played for the Stampeders of the CFL.

Arkansas opened its 1897 season with its sixth game in four years against the team from Fort Smith High School. The Cardinals next competed in their third intercollegiate game, playing Drury College to a 6–6 tie. On November 20, 1897, Arkansas won its first ever intercollegiate football game against Ouachita College, a liberal arts college in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
