Plymouth Notch is an unincorporated community in the town of Plymouth, Windsor County, Vermont, United States. [1] All or most of the village is included in the Calvin Coolidge Homestead District, a National Historic Landmark.

John Calvin Coolidge, Sr., the father of Calvin Coolidge, was Justice of the Peace in this town and Coolidge was sworn in here as president, almost immediately upon the death of his predecessor, Warren G. Harding, who died suddenly in 1923. President Coolidge is buried in Notch Cemetery, along with seven generations of Coolidges.
In addition to the museum buildings, the village contains a restaurant, general store, and a still operative cheese factory founded by the Coolidge family in 1890. [2]

Calvin Coolidge, the 30th president of the United States, was born and raised in Plymouth and is buried there in the Plymouth Notch cemetery. The State of Vermont Division for Historic Preservation owns and maintains the Coolidge Homestead and the village of Plymouth Notch.

Harding the previous evening. The inauguration – the sixth non-scheduled, extraordinary inauguration to ever take place – marked the commencement of the first term of Calvin Coolidge as president. The presidential oath of office was administered to the new president by his father, John Calvin Coolidge Sr., who was a Vermont notary public and justice of the peace. On Tuesday, August 21, 1923, President Coolidge repeated the oath before Justice Adolph A. Hoehling Jr. of the Court of the District of Columbia at the Willard Hotel, Washington, D.C.
Union Christian Church is a historic church located in Plymouth Notch, Vermont. The church was constructed in 1840, and dedicated in 1842. President Calvin Coolidge grew up across the street from the church and attended it as a child. The church building is owned and maintained by the Calvin Coolidge Memorial Foundation and hosts numerous events. The church is adjacent to the Coolidge Homestead.

It is the primary recreational center for Calvin Coolidge State Forest, the largest state forest in Vermont. It includes more than 2,000 acres (810 ha), including the entire bowl-shaped valley where the village is located. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970. The village itself, now a Vermont state park, was designated a National Historic Landmark District in 1965.
