Television in Kazakhstan was first introduced in 1958. There are 116 private channels and 4 national commercial television.

Qazaqstan is the State Television Channel of Kazakhstan. Other country-wide television stations are Khabar and Yel Arna.

Gakku TV and Toi Duman are music channels dedicated solely to only airing music produced in Kazakhstan.

In December 2021, Kazakh Information and Social Protection Minister Aida Balayeva announced that the film industry in Kazakhstan produced over 250 TV series from 2016 to 2021. [1]

The Internet in Kazakhstan is growing rapidly. Between 2001 and 2005, the number of Internet users increased from 200,000 to 1 million. By 2007, Kazakhstan reported Internet penetration levels of 8.5 percent, rising to 12.4 percent in 2008 and 34.3% in 2010. By 2013, Kazakhstani officials reported Internet penetration levels of 62.2 percent, with about 10 million users. There are five first-tier ISPs with international Internet connections and approximately 100 second-tier ISPs that are purchasing Internet traffic from the first-tier ISPs. As of 2019, more than 75% of Kazakhstan's population have access to the internet, a figure well ahead of any other country in Central Asia. The Internet consumption in the country rose from 356 PB in 2018 to 1,000 PB in 2022.

Qazaqstan Radio and Television Corporation is one of the largest media companies in Kazakhstan. It runs four TV channels: Qazaqstan, Qazsport, Balapan, Abai TV; and four radio stations: Qazaq Radiosy, Shalkar, Astana, and Classic. There are also 14 regional TV channels that are part of the corporation.

Qazaqstan is a Kazakh state television broadcaster which began broadcasting on 8 March 1958. It is a part of the Qazaqstan Radio and Television Corporation. The station broadcasts around the clock in the Kazakh language.

The Khabar Agency (KA) (Kazakh: "Хабар" Агенттігі, romanized: "Habar" Agenttıgı, ; Russian: Агентство «Хабар», romanized: Agentstvo Khabar) is a major media outlet in Kazakhstan. It was established in 1995, known originally as the National Television News Agency (Khabar is News in Kazakh). It is currently one of the largest networks in the country, and broadcasts daily in Kazakh and Russian. Additionally, Khabar runs the satellite channel Jibek Joly TV, which is potentially available across Europe and Asia. It features programming in English, Kazakh and Russian.

Khabar 24 is the first 24-hour news channel in Kazakhstan opened by the initiative of ex-president Nursultan Nazarbayev. The channel mainly focuses on 24 hour news reports, but also has other programmes, such as interviews and much more. There are also sister channels owned by Khabar 24, such as Khabar, a Kazakh movie and culture channel.

Ninety One or 91 is a Kazakh boy group formed by JUZ Entertainment in 2015. The band consists of four members: Alem, Ace, Zaq, and Bala. Once a five-member group, A.Z. left in 2020. Ninety One is the pioneer act of a new musical genre called Q-pop (Qazaq-pop) which could be called a symbiosis of Western and Asian pop music. The group was produced by Yerbolat Bedelkhan, a member of the Kazakh music unit "Orda".

Since 2006, she has been producing Kazakh musical group KeshYOU and individual performers Zhanar Dugalova and Yerke Esmahan. Since 2010, she has appeared in several films and television series.

Kazakhstan participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest from 2018 through 2022. Khabar Agency (KA), an associate member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), is responsible for the country's participation in the contest. As an associate member, the nation cannot apply to participate on its own and requires a special invitation from the contest organisers to take part in future editions. The country's best result to date is second place, which it achieved in the 2019 and 2020 contests.
