Jama Mohamoud Egal (Somali :Jaamac Maxamuud Cigaal) is a Somali politician,who is currently serving as the Minister of Energy and Minerals of Somaliland. He hails from Sanbuur sub-clan of the Habr Je'lo Isaaq [2] [3]
Somaliland, officially the Republic of Somaliland, is an unrecognised de facto sovereign state in the Horn of Africa, on the southern coast of the Gulf of Aden, still considered internationally to be part of Somalia. It is bordered by Djibouti to the northwest, Ethiopia to the south and west, and Somalia to the east. Its claimed territory has an area of 176,120 square kilometres (68,000 sq mi), with approximately 5.7 million residents as of 2021. The capital and largest city is Hargeisa. The Dir is one of the largest and most prominent Somali clans in the Horn of Africa. They are also considered to be the oldest Somali stock to have inhabited the region. Its members inhabit Djibouti, Somalia, Ethiopia, and northeastern Kenya.
The Economy of Somaliland largely relies on primary production and agriculture, where livestock is the main export of the country. Somaliland has a gross domestic product (GDP) of about US $7.2 billion.
Egal International Airport, is an airport in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, named after Somaliland's second president Muhammad Haji Ibrahim Egal, the airport underwent major renovations in 2012–2013. In 2002 the airport handled 85,800 passengers & 4,300 tons of cargo on a total of 6,120 landings.

He formerly served as the Education and Science Minister of Somaliland. He also served as the Minister of Interior of Somaliland.

Somaliland and the United States do not have official diplomatic relations. While Somaliland operates a representative liaison office in Washington, D.C., it does not have formal diplomatic status under the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. Both countries do maintain contact as delegations from both sides have met in the past.
