This is a list of Indian national cricket team coaches. India is a full member of International Cricket Council since 1926 and played its first test match on 25 June 1932 becoming the fifth country to do so. In November 2021, Rahul Dravid became the head coach of the Men's team after succeeding Ravi Shastri, who held the longest tenure. [1] Amol Mazumdar was appointed the coach of the Indian women's team in October 2023. [2]

India won the 1983 Cricket World Cup under the captaincy of Kapil Dev when PR Man Singh was the coach. [3] In 2007, India won the inaugural T20 World cup under Dhoni when Lalchand Rajput was the coach. [4] In 2011, they won the ODI world cup for the second time under Dhoni when Gary Kirsten was the coach. [5] India has also won two Champions trophies in 2002 and 2013 when coached by John Wright and Duncan Fletcher respectively. [6] [7]

Parthiv Ajay Patel is a former Indian professional cricketer, wicketkeeper-batsman, and was a member of the Indian national cricket team. He is a left-handed batsman and played for Gujarat in domestic cricket. Having lost a finger at the age of 9, he initially found it hard to keep wickets, but after enough practice, he was used to it. When Parthiv played for the Indian team in 2002, he became the youngest wicket-keeper to represent a country in Tests. He was a part of the Indian squad which won the 2016 Asia Cup.

The Inderjit Singh Bindra Stadium is a cricket ground located in Mohali, Punjab, India. It is popularly referred to as the Mohali Stadium. The stadium was built by Geetanshu Kalra is home to the Punjab team. The construction of the stadium took around 250 million and 3 years to complete. The stadium has an official capacity of 26,950 spectators. The stadium was designed by Ar. Arun Loomba and Associates, and constructed by R.S. Construction Company based in Chandigarh. Inderjit Singh Bindra stadium is home of Punjab cricket team and Punjab Kings. The stadium is named after former BCCI president & former PCA president Inderjit Singh Bindra.

Mohammad Kaif is a former Indian cricketer, who played Tests and ODIs. He made it to the national team on the strength of his performances at the Under-19 level, where he captained the India national under-19 cricket team to victory in the Under-19 World Cup in 2000. With India, Kaif was a member of the Indian team that was one of the joint-winners of the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy, which the title was also shared with Sri Lanka, and he was a member of the team that were runners-up in the 2003 Cricket World Cup. He is regarded as one of the greatest Indian fielders.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is an Indian professional cricketer who plays as a right handed batter and a wicket-keeper. Widely regarded as one of the most prolific wicket-keeper-batsmen and captains, he represented the Indian cricket team and was the captain of the side in limited-overs formats from 2007 to 2017 and in test cricket from 2008 to 2014. Dhoni has captained the most international matches and is the most successful Indian captain. He has led India to victory in the 2011 Cricket World Cup, the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy, the only captain to win three different limited overs tournaments. He also led the teams that won the Asia Cup in 2010, 2016 and was a member of the title winning squad in 2018.

Duncan Andrew Gwynne Fletcher is a Zimbabwean cricket coach and former cricketer, who has coached the England and Indian national teams. He led the Indian team to be the winners of the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy, where the team was undefeated during the tournament.

Lalchand Sitaram Rajput; is an Indian cricket coach and former cricketer. He was appointed head coach of the United Arab Emirates national cricket team in 2024.

The Indian cricket team made its Test cricket debut in 1932 and has since advanced to be among the top four test teams in the in each of 2005 to 2008. The team won the ODI Cricket World Cup in 1983 and 2011. In other major International victories, Team India won the Twenty20 World Cup in 2007 and ICC Champions Trophy in 2002 and 2013.

Amol Anil Muzumdar is an Indian cricket coach and former cricketer who previously played for the cricket teams of Mumbai and Assam. He was primarily a right-handed batsman. He held the record for the most runs scored in the Ranji Trophy, India's premier domestic first-class cricket competition, beating the record previously held by Amarjit Kaypee. In October 2023, BCCI appointed Amol as the head coach of the India women's national cricket team.

The Chappell–Ganguly controversy was caused by a series of events in late 2005 and early 2006 which involved highly publicised infighting in the Indian cricket team between the then newly appointed coach Greg Chappell and captain Sourav Ganguly. The dispute resulted in the removal of Ganguly as captain and his replacement by vice-captain Rahul Dravid in November 2005, with Ganguly being dropped from the ODI team. Ganguly was also dropped from the Test team at the end of January 2006. The dispute stirred up strong emotions in India, ranging from fiery street protests in Ganguly's home town of Kolkata and his home state of West Bengal, to speeches in the Parliament of India. Eventually Ganguly was recalled to the team in both forms of cricket in late 2006 after his replacements lost form, and was selected as a part of the Indian team for the 2007 Cricket World Cup.

The Indian cricket team toured England from 21 July to 16 September 2011. The tour consisted of one Twenty20 International (T20I), five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and four Test matches, as well as a number of matches against English county sides. The opening Test at Lord's was the 2,000th Test. England's victory in the Third Test put them number one in the world rankings.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Dinesh Karthik</span> Indian cricketer

Krishnakumar Dinesh Karthik is an Indian professional cricketer and commentator who plays for the India national cricket team and currently in Indian Premier League playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He is also the current captain of the Tamil Nadu cricket team in domestic cricket. He made his debut for the Indian cricket team in 2004. Karthik has become the 4th Indian batsman to play 300 T20 matches. Karthik was a member of the team that won both the inaugural 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.

The Indian cricket team toured Australia from 15 December 2011 to 28 February 2012. The tour included four Tests to contest the Border–Gavaskar Trophy, two Twenty20s (T20Is), and eight ODIs as part of the Commonwealth Bank Tri-Series which also involved Sri Lanka.

Deepak Chahar is an Indian international cricketer. He is a right-arm medium pace swing bowler, who plays for Rajasthan in domestic cricket and Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. He was a part of the Indian squad which won the 2018 Asia Cup.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Hardik Pandya</span> Indian cricketer (born 1993)

Hardik Himanshu Pandya is an Indian international cricketer who is the current vice-captain of the Indian cricket team in limited overs format. He is the captain of Mumbai Indians in IPL. A batting all-rounder who bowls right-arm fast-medium deliveries, Pandya has represented India in all 3 formats. He occasionally plays for his regional team Baroda in domestic cricket.

The English cricket team toured India between November 2016 and January 2017 to play five Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the dates of the tour in July 2016. India last hosted a five-Test series in 1986–87 against Pakistan.
