The Reserve Bank of India,chiefly known as RBI,is India's central bank and regulatory body responsible for regulation of the Indian banking system. It is under the ownership of Ministry of Finance,Government of India. It is responsible for the control,issue and maintaining supply of the Indian rupee. It also manages the country's main payment systems and works to promote its economic development. Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran(BRBNML) is one of the specialised divisions of RBI through which it prints &mints Indian currency notes(INR) in two of it's currency printing presses located in Nashik(Western India) and Dewas(Central India). RBI established the National Payments Corporation of India as one of its specialised division to regulate the payment and settlement systems in India. National Housing Bank(NHB),is the apex regulatory body for overall regulation and licensing of housing finance companies in India. It is under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Finance,Government of India. It was set up on 9 July 1988 under the National Housing Bank Act,1987. NHB is the apex financial institution for housing. NHB has been established with an objective to operate as a principal agency to promote housing finance institutions both at local and regional levels and to provide financial and other support incidental to such institutions and for matters connected therewith. The Finance Act,2019 has amended the National Housing Bank Act,1987. The amendment confers the powers of regulation of Housing Finance Companies (HFCs) to the Reserve Bank of India.
RBI Thiruvananthapuram is a branch office of the Reserve Bank of India,with its jurisdiction covering the State of Kerala and the Union Territory of Lakshadweep. National Advisory Committee on Accounting Standards (NACAS) is a body set up under section 210A of the Companies Act,1956 by the Government of India. It advises the Central Government on the formulation and laying down of accounting policy and accounting standards for adoption by companies . The advisory committee shall consist of the following members,namely:1. A chairperson who shall be a person of eminence well versed in accountancy,finance,business administration,business law,economics or similar Discipline;2. One representative each of the Central government,Reserve Bank of India,Comptroller &Auditor General of India to be nominated by it. 4. A person who holds or has held the office of professor in Accountancy,Finance or Business Management in any University or deemed university;5. The Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Tax (India) constituted under the Central Board of Revenue Act,1963 (India) or his nominee;6. Two members to represent the chambers of commerce and industry to be nominated by The Central Government of India;and 7. One representative of the Security and Exchange Board of India to be nominated by it.

Committee on Comprehensive Financial Services for Small Businesses and Low Income Households was an expert committee formed by Raghuram Rajan on 23 September 2013,after he was appointed as the governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). It was headed by Nachiket Mor. The objective of the panel was to study various aspects of financial inclusion in India. The panel submitted its final report on 7 January 2014.
Small finance banks are a type of niche banks in India. Banks with a small finance bank license can provide basic banking service of acceptance of deposits and lending.
