Sting Sports is an Australian sports equipment company focused on boxing and mixed martial arts. The company was founded in Melbourne, Australia in 2003 by Amir Anis. Sting Sports was selected as the official AIBA boxing glove and official supplier for the 2014 Commonwealth Games and 2016 Summer Olympics. [1] [2]

The company manufactures and commercialises boxing gloves and protective gear such as helmets.

Sponsorships

Sting Sports has a number of partnerships both domestically and internationally including Boxing Australia, USA Boxing, Boxing NZ, Boxing Canada, Italian Boxing Federation and has recently secured the sponsorship of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in April 2018.[ citation needed ]

It also has held sponsorships AIBA's APB and is the current sponsor of the World Series of Boxing.[ citation needed ]

Mangte Chungneijang Mary Kom is an Indian Olympic boxer, politician, and former Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha. She is the only woman to win the World Amateur Boxing Championship six times, the only female boxer to have won a medal in each one of the first seven World Championships, and the only boxer to win eight World Championship medals. Nicknamed Magnificent Mary, she was the only Indian female boxer to have qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics, where she competed in the flyweight (51 kg) category and won a bronze medal. She had also been ranked as the world's No. 1 female light-flyweight by the International Boxing Association (amateur) (AIBA). She became the first Indian female boxer to win a gold medal in the Asian Games in 2014 at Incheon, South Korea and is the first Indian female boxer to win gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. His Sport Australia Hall of Fame citation read that he was a "pioneer voluntary Australian sports administrator and the key person in amateur boxing and the Australian Commonwealth Games movement across the second half of last century."

Lovlina Borgohain is an Indian boxer. She won a bronze medal at the 2020 Olympic Games in the women's welterweight event, becoming only the third Indian boxer to win a medal at the Olympics. She won gold medal at 2023 IBA Women's World Boxing Championships and bronze medals at the 2018 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships and the 2019 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships. The Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) is the body mandated to organise, promote and develop the sport of boxing in Uganda as stipulated in the Sports Act of 1964 and other subsequent sports-related rules and regulations in Uganda. The UBF was founded in 1950 and is affiliated to the International Boxing Association.
