2003 South Gloucestershire Council election

The 2003 South Gloucestershire Council election took place on 1 May 2003 to elect members of South Gloucestershire unitary authority in England. All 70 seats in the council were up for election. The Liberal Democrats once again gained a plurality of seats but lost overall control of the council as the Conservatives won the most votes and therefore made large gains at the expense of the Lib Dems and Labour.

Elections to Gloucestershire County Council took place on 2 May 2013 as part of the 2013 United Kingdom local elections. 53 electoral divisions elected one county councillor each by first-past-the-post voting for a four-year term of office. No elections were held in South Gloucestershire, which is a unitary authority outside the area covered by the County Council.

All 53 councillors were elected from electoral divisions which returned one county councillor each by first-past-the-post voting for a four-year term of office. Control of the council went from a Conservative Party minority to a majority administration.

Elections to Mid Bedfordshire District Council were held in May 2007. These were the last elections to council, with all 53 seats being up for election. Councillors elected would serve a two-year term, expiring in 2009, when Mid Bedfordshire District Council was replaced by Central Bedfordshire Council. The Conservative Party retained overall control of the council, winning 37 of 53 seats on the council. The Conservatives won 8 seats unopposed, as did an Independent candidate in one ward.

Elections to Argyll and Bute Council took place on 5 May 2022, the same day as the 31 other Scottish local government elections. As with other Scottish council elections, it was held using single transferable vote (STV)—a form of proportional representation—in which multiple candidates are elected in each ward and voters rank candidates in order of preference. New ward boundaries were proposed by Boundaries Scotland in 2021, which would have reduced the total number of councillors to 34. However, these were rejected by the Scottish Parliament and the boundaries used at the previous election remained in place.

An election to the County Council of London took place on 2 March 1895. The council was elected by First Past the Post with each elector having two votes in the two-member seats. The Moderates made numerous gains, and tied the Progressive Party in seats on the council.
