Bahia Park [1] is a water park in the north of Algeciras, Southwest Spain, situated next to the highway N-340. To the east of the park is the Bay of Gibraltar (Bay of Algeciras).

The park has over 10 pools and slides, including the Gran Niagara, Kamikaze, and Rio Salvaje. [2] Bahia Park is a popular destination for younger children and the elderly. The founder of the park is el Señor AquaParque, who famously stated at the inauguration of the park that people should remember "Slippery when wet, Amigo." Recent additions to the park include a new ice cream parlour named "Helado Caliente", as well as a new self-service restaurant that serves sushi called "Nikura La Pupa". Future additions include a 100-meter water slide called “La Serpiente Peluda”. [3]

Carowinds is a 407-acre (165 ha) amusement park located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Owned and operated by Cedar Fair, the park opened to the public on March 31, 1973. Carowinds straddles the state line between North and South Carolina, adjacent to Interstate 77, with a portion of the park located in Fort Mill, South Carolina. It was constructed at a cost of $70 million following a four-year planning period led by Charlotte businessman Earl Patterson Hall. Carowinds also features Carolina Harbor, a 27-acre (11 ha) water park that is included with park admission. The Bay of Gibraltar, is a bay at the southern end of the Iberian Peninsula. It is around 10 km (6.2 mi) long by 8 km (5.0 mi) wide, covering an area of some 75 km2 (29 sq mi), with a depth of up to 400 m (1,300 ft) in the centre of the bay. It opens to the south into the Strait of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean Sea.

The Port of Algeciras is the port and harbour of Algeciras, a city located in the province of Cádiz in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. It is a commercial, fishing and passenger port. Primarily a transshipment port, its position near the Strait of Gibraltar and key east–west shipping routes establishes it as one of the busiest transshipment hubs in the world. It competes with Tanger-Med for the local transshipment market. It consists of numerous maritime infrastructures scattered throughout the Bay of Gibraltar. Although only the town of Algeciras and La Línea de la Concepción overlook the bay, there are port facilities in the rest of the bank, also belonging to the municipalities of San Roque and Los Barrios. It is managed along the port of Tarifa by the Port Authority of Algeciras Bay.

Wildwater Kingdom was a water park located in Aurora and Bainbridge Township, Ohio, United States. Owned by Cedar Fair, the park opened in 2005 as part of the larger Geauga Lake and Wildwater Kingdom resort. The site was previously the location of SeaWorld Ohio (1970–2000) and later served as the marine life section of the larger Six Flags Worlds of Adventure (2001–2003). Worlds of Adventure was purchased by Cedar Fair in 2004 and the marine life area was converted into a water park for the 2005 season.

The Royal Fair of Algeciras is the most important annual festival in the Spanish city of Algeciras, held in June each year. Since it was established in 1850 as a cattle market, the fair and the fairground in which it is held have become popular attractions for the people of Algeciras and the surrounding towns of the Campo de Gibraltar. It has moved several times since its establishment and is now held in the Las Colinas area, where Algeciras's Las Palomas bullring is also located.

Algeciras Municipal Library is a public library network in Algeciras, Spain. Its headquarters are at the Biblioteca Cristóbal Delgado, located on Salvador Allende Street. There are two branches, including one in the Saladillo neighborhood, Biblioteca El Saladillo, and another in the La Granja neighborhood, Biblioteca Pérez Petinto. In addition to its book collection and reference materials, the institution offers a variety of cultural activities such as a book club. The library is run by the municipality. It was established in 1925 by the local historian Manuel Pérez-Petinto y Costa.

Ermita Sagrado Corazón de Jesús is a Christian church in the western outskirts of Algeciras, Spain, situated just to the northwest of Bahia Park across the main highway to Málaga. The Málaga branch of the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús had been established in the early 1920s. The church is noted for its involvement in nativity contests.
