MD 33 connects Easton, the county seat of Talbot County, with all communities on the peninsula that juts west into the Chesapeake Bay between the Miles River and Eastern Bay on the north and the Tred Avon River and Choptank River on the south. Maryland Route 579 is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known as Bozman Neavitt Road, the state highway runs 7.35 miles (11.83 km) from the beginning of state maintenance in Neavitt north to MD 33 near St. Michaels. MD 579 provides access to the peninsula containing Neavitt and Bozman, which lies between Harris Creek and Broad Creek in western Talbot County. The state highway was constructed from MD 33 to Bozman in the mid-1930s and extended to Neavitt in the late 1950s.

The Helen Virginia is a Skipjack boat built in Crisfield, Maryland in 1948. Having fallen into disrepair after decades of use, she underwent restoration beginning in 2013 in Chance, Maryland. Ellen M. Bozman was an American community activist and politician in Arlington County, Virginia for nearly four decades. She became involved in politics in the early 1960s, first as an independent and later as a Democrat, and was president of the Arlington League of Women Voters from 1963 to 1965. She served six terms on the county board from 1973 to 1997, including six years as Chair and five years as vice-chair. After her retirement from the board, she remained active in community issues such as affordable housing, health care, and education.
